Four masked thieves, on Sunday, Oct. 19, carried out a daring daylight robbery at the Galerie d'Apollon (Gallery of Apollo), a 16th-century hall within the Louvre Museum in Paris, France, specifically on the south side of the building facing the Seine River, stealing eight to nine pieces of historically significant crown jewels in less than eight minutes.

The stolen items, valued at $102 million, include pieces from the French royal family's history, a diamond and emerald necklace from Napoleon I, a tiara worn by Empress Eugénie, and a sapphire set once belonging to Queen Marie-Amelie, with the Regent diamond, valued at over $60 million, reportedly left behind by the thieves.

The robbery, occurred at about 9:30 a.m., shortly after the museum opened, and was executed with remarkable speed and precision by a team of professionals. The heist involved a truck-mounted mechanical lift to access a second-floor balcony, followed by the use of power tools to break through a glass window.

The thieves used a monte-meubles (a furniture hoist truck) to reach the balcony near the River Seine, climbed up with a mechanical lift, and entered the museum through a glass window using angle grinders and other power tools. After threatening museum guards, who evacuated the building, the thieves smashed two display cases and stole the jewellery before escaping on two scooters.

The thieves fled on scooters, leaving behind a damaged crown and equipment, and authorities believe the jewels have likely been broken down for their precious metals and gems, making recovery extremely difficult.

A damaged crown belonging to Empress Eugénie was found near the escape route, and the thieves attempted to set fire to their vehicle but were thwarted by a museum staff member.

The Louvre remains closed for investigations as of Tuesday, with no official reopening date announced; refunds are being issued to ticket holders.

French authorities have launched a nationwide manhunt, led by the Paris police's Brigade de Répression du Banditisme (BRB) unit, which specializes in high-profile robberies.

Experts warn that the jewels are likely already being dismantled, with recovery efforts having only a few days before the items are lost forever.

This heist is the first major theft from the Louvre since 1998 and follows a recent spate of museum robberies in France, including a gold theft from the Natural History Museum and a porcelain heist in Limoges.

The incident has sparked national outrage, with French President Emmanuel Macron calling it an "attack on France's heritage" and Justice Minister Gérald Darmanin admitting security failures.

The theft has reignited debate over museum security, with critics pointing to a recent spate of museum robberies in France, including a $11 million porcelain theft from the Adrien Dubouche Museum in Limoges and a gold heist from the National Museum of Natural History.

Critics of the museum security, allege that the Louvre's security chief, Dominique Buffin, was appointed as part of a "feminization policy" or "diversity hire" by director Laurence Des Cars.

The Louvre had previously requested government funding for a major renovation and security upgrade as part of President Macron’s New Renaissance project, which includes reinforced security.

Elon Musk Slams 'Fools' Over Accusations Of Starlink Service Disruptions In Ukraine

In X posts over the weekend, Elon Musk said that SpaceX restricted Ukraine’s Starlink service because Kyiv violated terms of service by using the civilian network for offensive drone strikes. He clarified that while Starshield is a US-government-controlled military system, Starlink is a civilian commercial service that has never been allowed for offensive strikes to kill people, and he claimed this "loophole was closed last week."

"Ukraine military violated Starlink terms of service and used it for offensive drone strikes to kill people. That loophole was closed last week," Musk wrote.

The SpaceX CEO cited a post from Volodymyr Zelenskyy in which the Ukrainian president admitted to using Starlink for medium-range strikes against enemy targets in occupied territories. He emphasized that Starlink remains critical for Ukrainian defense, warning that the front line would collapse immediately if the service were turned off entirely, and expressed contempt for those he labeled "virtue-signaling evil warmongers."

Ukrainian officials, including presidential adviser Serhii Beskrestnov, disputed Musk’s allegations, claiming it was technically impossible to use commercial Starlink for such operations due to built-in speed restrictions (70-90 km/h) and the fact that the service does not work over Russian territory.

"For the fools out there, Zelensky himself posted about using Starlink for offensive drone strikes, which has always been against Starlink’s terms of service," Musk wrote/

Despite the dispute, both Starlink and Starshield services were reportdly restored to full operating speeds in Ukraine and US President Donald Trump claimed he had instructed Musk to "put it back."

"Starlink remains critical to the defense of Ukraine, as it is the only system that cannot be jammed or blown up, at least for now," Musk wrote. "Were Starlink to be turned off, the Ukrainian front line would collapse immediately. This is NOT a threat, it is simply a statement of fact."

HAWK: Rocket Lab Launches 3 Signals-intelligence Satellites For HawkEye 360

Rocket Lab Electron launched its 98th Electron mission on Friday(Oct. 23) at 0711 UTC, from Launch Complex 1 in New Zealand, deploying three HAWK satellites for HawkEye 360 into a 520-kilometer low Earth orbit. The "We're Not Hawking Around" mission marks Rocket Lab’s 19th launch of the year.

The rocket carried three HAWK satellites designed for HawkEye 360, a Virginia-based signals intelligence company. They operate in clusters of three to scan the globe for radio frequency (RF) emissions, utilizing Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) and Frequency Difference of Arrival (FDOA) processing.

The collected data supports maritime tracking, GNSS jamming detection, radar monitoring, communications mapping, and space defense for the U.S. government and its allies.

"Operating in clusters of three, HawkEye 360's satellites collect signal data from across the RF spectrum for maritime tracking, GNSS jamming detection, radar monitoring, communications mapping and space defense," Rocket Lab wrote in a mission description.

HawkEye 360 provides this data to the U.S. government and its allies "to enable faster, better decision-making," according to the company. "Our space-based collection, proprietary signal processing and AI-powered analytics transform knowledge of the RF spectrum into a strategic advantage."

This deployment is the third dedicated Electron launch for HawkEye 360 since 2023, adding to the company’s nearly 50 satellites in orbit since its first launch in 2018.

Friday's flight represents Rocket Lab’s 98th launch to date, bringing the company closer to the milestone of 100 Electron launches. The company has executed 16 Electron missions and three suborbital HASTE flights this year, demonstrating high turnaround speed and production rates.

The mission underscores Rocket Lab’s trusted role in scaling commercial constellations for defense and commercial customers, following a previous HawkEye 360 launch on SpaceX’s Bandwagon-5 mission just two days prior.

Jared Kushner's Hacked Phone Reveals Secret Negotiations, $2B Slush Funds, With Gulf Leaders

Netherlands Defense Intelligence and Security Service (MIVD) obtained access to President Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner's hacked iPhone, after recruiting a Russian military intelligence(GRU)'s operative, revealing secret negotiations and financial transfers involving Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed (MBZ).

In late 2017, after capturing the GRU hacker, a dark-web specialist in stolen banking data, traveling to the United Kingdom, MIVD sought and received British permission to intercept him upon arrival, gained access to a Russian server containing screenshots of Kushner’s iPhone, then reverse-engineered the vulnerability to monitor his screen activity starting in early 2018.

A tip in 2020, reportedly revealed that via the hacked Kushner’s phone, Dutch intelligence observed him accessing a Dubai-based bank account holding hundreds of millions of dollars that had originated from a bank in Azerbaijan. He reportedly appeared to have moved substantial sums from that account to various individuals, including a warlord, a mercenary, and a former hit man.

Intelligence reportedly showed Kushner accessing secret bank accounts funded with at least $2 billion by MBS and MBZ, including an account at First Abu Dhabi Bank and another linked to Israel’s Central Bank.

The account sat at the intersection of several overlapping ambitions. MBZ reportedly wanted the Trump administration to abandon the Iran nuclear deal; MBS) sought help securing his position as crown prince; and Kushner hoped to advance an Israeli-Palestinian arrangement acceptable to Israel while his family’s real-estate company faced a looming billion-dollar debt on 666 Fifth Avenue.

The hacking allegedly revealed over $700 million in transfers, with funds routed through an Azerbaijani bank to a UAE charity account under the nominal ownership of the Watani Al Emarat Foundation, run by Dherar Belhoul Al Falasi, which Kushner allegedly used to pay for covert operations involving a warlord, a mercenary, and a hitman. The charity also served as a cover for sensitive military and intelligence expenditures.

Kushner and his legal team have categorically denied the claims as "completely insane" and "outrageous fabrications," stating no such bank accounts exist and noting that none of these events surfaced during previous congressional or special counsel investigations.
