Romanian left-wing Constitutional Court has annulled the results of the first round of the presidential elections claiming alleged Russian interference, after a populist candidate's victory.
Intelligence documents alleged a Russian influence campaign was behind the unexpected lead by candidate Călin Georgescu, known for his anti-war stance, and opposition to NATO's involvement in the Russia-Ukraine war, and the left's globalist aghenda.
The court's decision, which comes just days before the second round of elections are supposed to be held, mandates a complete rerun of the electoral process, with the government yet to set a new date for the elections.
Political and legal experts slam the high court's ruling as reckless, and a blatant subversion of the democratic process
