Trump Sues WSJ Over 'Fake' Nude Woman Birthday Letter To Epstein
July 18, 2025
post photo preview

President Donald Trump has denied sending a bawdy birthday letter to Jeffrey Epstein in 2003, claiming the report by the Wall Street Journal is "fake" and has sued the publication.

The report alleges that Trump sent a letter featuring a drawing of a naked woman with a "Donald" signature mimicking pubic hair, along with a typewritten message that included a fictional conversation between Trump and Epstein. The letter concluded with "Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret"

The letter was allegedly part of an album compiled by Ghislaine Maxwell for Epstein's 50th birthday, which also included messages from other notable figures. The album included letters from other notable figures, such as Leslie Wexner and Alan Dershowitz, and was part of documents reviewed by the Justice Department during its investigation of Epstein.

The album, previously unreported, also contained poems, photos, and greetings from various figures. Epstein, arrested in 2006 and 2019 for sex-related crimes, died in jail in 2019.

Maxwell was convicted in 2021 for aiding Epstein’s sex trafficking. The Justice Department’s “Epstein files” have stirred controversy, with Trump dismissing them as a hoax and expressing reluctance to release more documents, while Attorney General Pam Bondi promised releases but claimed to have found no significant new materials.

"The Wall Street Journal printed a FAKE letter, supposedly to Epstein. These are not my words, not the way I talk. Also, I don’t draw pictures. I told Rupert Murdoch it was a Scam, that he shouldn’t print this Fake Story. But he did, and now I’m going to sue his ass off, and that of his third rate newspaper. Thank you for your attention to this matter!  DJT" Trump wrote on Truth Social early morning Friday(UTC).

The president early morning Saturday(UTC) announced a lawsuit against WSJ. Writing on Truth Social, he said "BREAKING NEWS: We have just filed a POWERHOUSE Lawsuit against everyone involved in publishing the false, malicious, defamatory, FAKE NEWS 'article' in the useless 'rag' that is, The Wall Street Journal. This historic legal action is being brought against the so-called authors of this defamation, the now fully disgraced WSJ, as well as its corporate owners and affiliates, with Rupert Murdoch and Robert Thomson (whatever his role is!) at the top of the list. We have proudly held to account ABC and George Slopadopoulos, CBS and 60 Minutes, The Fake Pulitzer Prizes, and many others who deal in, and push, disgusting LIES, and even FRAUD, to the American People. This lawsuit is filed not only on behalf of your favorite President, ME, but also in order to continue standing up for ALL Americans who will no longer tolerate the abusive wrongdoings of the Fake News Media. I hope Rupert and his 'friends' are looking forward to the many hours of depositions and testimonies they will have to provide in this case. Thank you for your attention to this matter. We will, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

Here is the WSJ report in part,

It was Jeffrey Epstein’s 50th birthday, and Ghislaine Maxwell was preparing a special gift to mark the occasion. She turned to Epstein’s family and friends. One of them was Donald Trump.

Maxwell collected letters from Trump and dozens of Epstein’s other associates for a 2003 birthday album, according to documents reviewed by The Wall Street Journal.

Pages from the leather-bound album—assembled before Epstein was first arrested in 2006—are among the documents examined by Justice Department officials who investigated Epstein and Maxwell years ago, according to people who have reviewed the pages. It’s unclear if any of the pages are part of the Trump administration’s recent review.

The president’s past relationship with Epstein is at a sensitive moment. The Justice Department documents, the so-called Epstein files, and who or what is in them are at the center of a storm consuming the Trump administration. On Wednesday, after angry comments about how the files are a hoax created by Democrats, President Trump lashed out at his own supporters for refusing to let the matter go.

The letter bearing Trump’s name, which was reviewed by the Journal, is bawdy—like others in the album. It contains several lines of typewritten text framed by the outline of a naked woman, which appears to be hand-drawn with a heavy marker. A pair of small arcs denotes the woman’s breasts, and the future president’s signature is a squiggly “Donald” below her waist, mimicking pubic hair.

The letter concludes: “Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret.”

In an interview with the Journal on Tuesday evening, Trump denied writing the letter or drawing the picture. “This is not me. This is a fake thing. It’s a fake Wall Street Journal story,” he said.

“I never wrote a picture in my life. I don’t draw pictures of women,” he said. “It’s not my language. It’s not my words.”

He told the Journal he was preparing to file a lawsuit if it published an article. “I’m gonna sue The Wall Street Journal just like I sued everyone else,” he said.

Allegations that Epstein had been sexually abusing girls became public in 2006 and he was arrested that year. Epstein died in 2019 in jail after he was arrested a second time and charged with sex trafficking conspiracy.

Justice Department officials didn’t respond to requests for comment or address questions about whether the Trump page and other pages of the birthday album were part of the agency’s recent documents review. The FBI declined to comment.

The existence of the album and the contents of the birthday letters haven’t previously been reported.

The album had poems, photos and greetings from businesspeople, academics, Epstein’s former girlfriends and childhood pals, according to the documents reviewed by the Journal and people familiar with them.

Among those who submitted letters were billionaire Leslie Wexner and attorney Alan Dershowitz. The album also contained a letter from a now-deceased Harvard economist, one of Epstein’s report cards from Mark Twain junior high school in Brooklyn and a note from a former assistant that included an acrostic with Epstein’s name: “Jeffrey, oh Jeffrey!/ Everyone loves you!/ Fun in the sun!/ Fun just for fun!/ Remember…don’t forget me soon!/ Epstein…you rock!/ You are the best!”

Epstein was Wexner’s money manager at the time. The longtime leader of Victoria’s Secret wrote a short message that said: “I wanted to get you what you want… so here it is….”

After the text was a line drawing of what appeared to be a woman’s breasts.

Wexner declined to comment through a spokesman. Wexner’s spokesman previously told the Journal that the retail mogul “severed all ties with Epstein in 2007 and never spoke with him again.”

Dershowitz’s letter included a mock-up of a “Vanity Unfair” magazine cover with mock headlines such as “Who was Jack the Ripper? Was it Jeffrey Epstein?” He joked that he had convinced the magazine to change the focus of an article from Epstein to Bill Clinton.

Dershowitz, who represented Epstein after his first arrest, said, “It’s been a long time and I don’t recall the content of what I may have written.”

The book was put together by a New York City bookbinder, Herbert Weitz, according to people who were involved in the process. Weitz, who died in 2020, listed Epstein as a client on his website in 2003.

It isn’t clear how the letter with Trump’s signature was prepared. Inside the outline of the naked woman was a typewritten note styled as an imaginary conversation between Trump and Epstein, written in the third person.

“Voice Over: There must be more to life than having everything,” the note began.

Donald: Yes, there is, but I won’t tell you what it is.

Jeffrey: Nor will I, since I also know what it is.

Donald: We have certain things in common, Jeffrey.

Jeffrey: Yes, we do, come to think of it.

Donald: Enigmas never age, have you noticed that?

Jeffrey: As a matter of fact, it was clear to me the last time I saw you.

Trump: A pal is a wonderful thing. Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret.

‘Jeffrey enjoys his social life’

When he turned 50, Epstein was already wealthy from managing Wexner’s fortune and was socializing with Trump, Clinton and other powerful people at his Manhattan townhouse, Palm Beach, Fla., home and private Caribbean island.

A spokesman for Clinton referred to a 2019 statement that former President Clinton had cut off ties more than a decade before Epstein’s second arrest and didn’t know about Epstein’s alleged crimes.

Epstein and Trump spent time together in the 1990s and early 2000s and were photographed at social events, including with Maxwell and Melania Trump. A 1992 tape from the NBC archives shows Trump partying with Epstein at his Mar-a-Lago estate; Trump is seen pulling a woman toward him and patting her behind.

Trump, along with others including Clinton, also appeared several times on flight logs for Epstein’s private jet.

A 2002 New York magazine profile of Epstein quoted Trump. “I’ve known Jeff for 15 years. Terrific guy,” Trump said. “He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it—Jeffrey enjoys his social life.”

Both men said that they subsequently had a falling-out. Trump has said their friendship ended before Epstein pleaded guilty to procuring a minor for prostitution in 2008, served time in a Florida jail and registered as a sex offender.

When Epstein was arrested again in 2019, Trump said he hadn’t talked to Epstein for about 15 years. “I knew him like everybody in Palm Beach knew him,” Trump said in the Oval Office at that time. “I was not a fan of his, that I can tell you.”

Trump’s spokeswoman told the Journal in 2023 that Trump had banned Epstein from his Mar-a-Lago club at some point in the past, without elaborating.

Maxwell, a British socialite, was convicted in 2021 of helping Epstein’s sex-trafficking and sentenced to 20 years in prison. Maxwell didn’t respond to a letter requesting an interview sent to her in prison. Arthur Aidala, an attorney representing Maxwell in her appeal, said, “At this point, she is focused on her case before the Supreme Court of the United States.”

The FBI’s Epstein files

Epstein’s associations with Trump and many powerful people have been well documented. There remain questions about what the FBI possesses about Epstein and his well-connected friends. In 2019, the FBI confiscated evidence from Epstein’s properties in the U.S. Virgin Islands and New York.

Earlier Tuesday, after the Journal sought comment from the president about the letter, Trump told reporters at the White House that he believed some Epstein files were “made up” by former Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden and former FBI Director James Comey.

He said that releasing any more Epstein files would be up to Attorney General Pam Bondi. “Whatever she thinks is credible, she should release,” Trump said.

Allegations that bureaucrats covered up Epstein’s connections with participants in his trafficking scheme were fanned by people now in top roles in the Trump administration, including FBI Director Kash Patel and his deputy, Dan Bongino.

In June 2024, Trump was asked in a Fox News interview whether he would release the Epstein case files. The Republican presidential candidate initially responded, “Yeah, I would.” But he also expressed some reservations. “You don’t want to affect people’s lives if it’s phony stuff in there, because it’s a lot of phony stuff with that whole world. But I think I would.”

Soon after she was confirmed as attorney general, Bondi said she was preparing to release new Epstein files. In late February, Bondi announced the release of “Phase 1” of the documents. But the material contained few new revelations, drawing criticism from right-wing influencers.

Bondi initially blamed the FBI’s New York office for withholding information and promised to release the remaining documents after redacting the victim’s names. Patel also said, “There will be no coverups, no missing documents and no stone left unturned.” They tasked hundreds of FBI employees to review the materials and prepare them for release.

The issue took on new life in June when Elon Musk, amid a public feud with Trump, alleged that the FBI was withholding documents from the Epstein case because Trump was in the files.

“The truth will come out,” Musk wrote on X on June 5. He later deleted the message and said he regretted some of his comments.

On July 7, the Justice Department backtracked on Bondi’s pledge to release more Epstein files. The Justice Department said that after an “exhaustive review” it had found no “incriminating client list” or additional documents that warrant public disclosure.

Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee demanded this week that Republican Chairman Jim Jordan hold hearings on the Trump administration’s handling of the Epstein files and, if necessary, subpoena Bondi, Patel and Bongino.

At a cabinet meeting on July 8, Trump criticized a reporter for asking about Epstein. “Are people still talking about this guy, this creep?” Trump said. “That is unbelievable. Do you want to waste the time?”

That same day, Musk wrote on X: “How can people be expected to have faith in Trump if he won’t release the Epstein files?”

Tesla Shareholders Approve Elon Musk's $1T Pay Package: Cybercab, Optimus, Roadstar Updates

Tesla shareholders have officially approved Elon Musk’s 2025 CEO Performance Award plan, with over 75% of votes in favor, marking a pivotal moment for the company as it aligns executive compensation with ambitious long-term goals.

The approval, announced during the 2025 Annual Shareholder Meeting at Gigafactory Texas, Thursday evening, was met with enthusiastic applause and celebration from attendees, including Musk dancing on stage alongside Tesla’s Optimus humanoid robots, which also performed synchronized movements.

The landmark pay package, worth up to $1 trillion over a decade, is contingent on Tesla achieving specific performance benchmarks, including reaching a $8.5 trillion market capitalization, delivering 1 million Optimus robots, and operating 1 million robotaxis.

The 2025 CEO Performance Award requires Musk to grow Tesla’s market capitalization from approximately $1.1 trillion to $8.5 trillion within ten years, a target that would make Tesla the most valuable company in history.

Additional requirements include increasing Tesla’s operating profit from $17 billion to $400 billion annually, delivering 20 million vehicles cumulatively, securing 10 million active Full Self-Driving (FSD) subscriptions, and achieving 1 million robotaxi operations.

The vote was supported by major institutional investors like Schwab Asset Management, which cited alignment with shareholder value, despite opposition from proxy advisors such as Glass Lewis and ISS.

Musk expressed gratitude for the approval, celebrating on stage with a dance and acknowledging the support of fellow tech leaders like Jack Dorsey and Michael Dell, who publicly endorsed the pay package as a governance and engineering necessity.

The approval was facilitated by Tesla’s reincorporation in Texas, allowing Musk to vote his 15% stake, unlike in a previous Delaware-based vote.

The meeting also featured major announcements on Tesla’s AI, robotics, and vehicle development, including the planned production of the Cybercab, Optimus robots, and the AI5 chip, all central to Tesla’s new mission of "Sustainable Abundance."

Tesla confirmed a rapid production ramp of Optimus humanoid robot, starting with a 1 million unit line in Fremont and a future 10 million unit line in Texas. The robot is expected to cost around $20,000 in current dollars and is seen as a tool to eliminate poverty and provide advanced medical care. Musk suggested that future versions could potentially host human consciousness via Neuralink, though this is likely over 20 years away.

At the meeting, Musk claimed that Optimus robots “will eliminate poverty,” “give everyone amazing medical care,” and will be “bigger than cell phones, bigger than anything.” He also said the robots could be used for “containment of future crime” by following criminals around and stopping them from “doing crime.”

The fully autonomous Cybercab, designed without pedals or steering wheels, will begin production in April 2026 at Gigafactory Texas. Tesla aims for a production cycle time of under 10 seconds, with a theoretical goal of five seconds.

The event featured a video of the unboxed manufacturing process of the Cybercab, with sightings of the vehicle on public roads becoming increasingly frequent, signaling progress toward its commercial rollout.

Musk revealed details about Tesla’s next-generation AI5 chip (formerly Hardware 5), which will be manufactured by Samsung and TSMC and is designed to power self-driving systems, Optimus robots, and other AI applications. The chip promises a 50x improvement over the AI4 chip, with 5x block quantization, 9x memory capacity, and 10x raw compute increase.

The final production iteration of the Tesla Semi, with a 500-mile range and 800kW drive power, will begin volume production in Nevada in 2026, targeting 50,000 units annually.

The new Tesla Roadster (V2) supercar Roadster will be unveiled on April 1, 2026, with production expected 12–18 months later, according to Musk.

The electric vehicle company is moving toward allowing "texting and driving" with Full Self-Driving, FSD V14, based on safety data, with the goal of opening this feature within months. FSD use has already led to 85% fewer crashes and 35,000 fewer fatalities over the past year, according to Musk.

Tesla’s new lithium refinery in South Texas is now the largest outside of China, capable of producing 50 GWh of lithium annually. A new Giga Texas cathode factory is under construction to strengthen supply chain resilience.

The company reaffirmed its mission to achieve "Sustainable Abundance," encompassing EVs, solar, energy storage, Optimus, and charging infrastructure.

Tesla is exploring space-based solar power and considering building a Tesla TeraFab for chip production. The company also plans to expand Tesla Insurance and the Tesla App to new languages like Hebrew.

The pay package approval has already had a market impact, with Tesla shares rising about 2% in after-hours trading, reflecting investor confidence in Musk’s long-term vision for autonomous vehicles, robotaxis, and humanoid robotics.

Buzz Off: Tucker Carlson Slams Critics Over Nick Fuentes Fallout, In Megyn Kelly Interview

Tucker Carlson, appearing alongside Megyn Kelly at a SiriusXM live event at the Westchester County Center, in White Plains, New York, dismissed criticism of his recent interview with right-wing commentator Nick Fuentes, telling detractors to "buzz off" as he defended his right to host provocative guests. He slammed Jewish neoconservatives like commentator Ben Shapiro and Florida Congressman Randy Fine, accusing them of being "shills" for Israel, arguing their criticism was unpatriotic.

Carlson, who has been a central figure in a recent conservative media firestorm, defended his decision to interview Fuentes, saying he views Fuentes as the most influential commentator among young men, with millions of supporters.

The popular journalist dismissed criticism from figures like Congressman Fine, who labeled him "the most dangerous antisemite in America," and Shapiro, whom he accused of "shilling for Israel" and being too extreme for his "tiny brain" to process.

“Nick Fuentes has said a long list of very vile things,” Kelly said, mentioning the interview that has sparked a civil war within MAGA.

“Big time, including attacking my dad, which was the most vile of all, in my opinion,”  Carlson added.

“Yeah. I mean, I personally have watched videos of him questioning the Holocaust, likening it to baking cookies in the oven. ‘And there’s no way you could have gotten to six million’ seems to be his theory. He seems to think that we’ve way overstated the number of Jews killed in the Holocaust. He’s ripped on poor Usha Vance in the most offensive terms. I mean, so what do you say to those people who say, ‘Why didn’t you raise any of that?’” Kelly asked.

“You know, do your own interview the way that you want to do it. You’re not my editor. Buzz off. I mean, I don’t know. You want to go yell at Nick Fuentes? I’ll give you his cell. Call him and go sit and yell at him and feel virtuous or whatever,” Carlson replied, adding:

"That’s up to you. I got the same thing with Putin. 'Why aren’t you yelling at him?' Okay, why? So I can show that I’m a good person? I care about what my wife thinks, my children think, and God thinks. And that’s it. I don’t need to prove that I am a good person to you! You may think I’m a terrible person. Okay, I’m just doing my thing, which is I want to understand what people think. And I’m committed to that. And if you don’t like it, don’t watch. That’s my view."

The event, part of Kelly's nationwide live podcast tour, highlighted the duo's shift to independent media after leaving Fox News, with Kelly emphasizing their newfound freedom from corporate constraints.

Kelly, who has also faced criticism for past controversies, including her 2018 defense of blackface, used the platform to draw parallels between her own past backlash and Carlson’s current situation, stating, "I was a racist in literally every newspaper in the country."

The controversy surrounding Carlson’s interview with Fuentes continues to ripple through conservative circles, with prominent pro-Israel figures facing backlash for their effort to 'cancel' Carlson and by extension, his friend Vice President JD Vance who are beloved on the American right.

Rocket Lab Electron Launches 'The Nation God' Satellite For iQPS

Rocket Lab successfully launched its 74th Electron mission, "The Nation God Navigates," on Wednesday, deploying the iQPS QPS-SAR-14 satellite, nicknamed YACHIHOKO-I, into a 575 kilometer circular orbit from Launch Complex 1 in Mahia, New Zealand. The rocket lifted off at 1951 UTC, with Electron's kick stage deploying the satellite about 50 minutes after liftoff, marking Rocket Lab’s sixth dedicated mission for iQPS and solidifying its role as the primary launch provider for the Japanese company’s growing Earth-imaging constellation.

The QPS-SAR-14 satellite, nicknamed YACHIHOKO-I after the Japanese god of nation-building and navigation, is the 13th satellite from iQPS to reach orbit, despite its designation as the 14th in the series.

iQPS aims to build a constellation of 36 synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellites to provide near-real-time Earth imagery, with the goal of capturing images of Earth’s surface every 10 minutes.

"This satellite will join the rest of the QPS-SAR constellation in providing high-resolution synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images and Earth monitoring services globally," Rocket Lab wrote in a mission description. "iQPS aims to build a constellation of 36 SAR satellites that will provide near-real-time images of Earth every 10 minutes."

Wednesday's launch was part of a multi-launch agreement between Rocket Lab and iQPS, with six additional dedicated missions planned to further expand the constellation.

"The Nation God Navigates" mission was the 16th Electron launch of 2025, matching the company’s record high for annual launches set in 2024. The Electron rocket, a two-stage launch vehicle powered by liquid oxygen and rocket-grade kerosene, has become the second most frequently launched U.S. rocket annually since its first orbital flight in January 2018.

Rocket Lab’s success with this mission reinforces its position as a leading provider of launch services for small satellite constellations, with plans to debut its larger Neutron rocket in the near future. The company also operates a suborbital version of the vehicle known as HASTE ("Hypersonic Accelerator Suborbital Test Electron"), which has flown five times since debuting in June 2023.
