Iran Thwarts 'Mossad-backed' Riots; Trump Delays Military Action
January 15, 2026

Iranian officials have accused Mossad, Israel’s intelligence agency, of inciting and organizing recent riots in Iran, claiming that "trained terrorist groups" from abroad, including "Mossad agents," are leading the violent protests.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reiterated this during a recent interview on Fox News, calling the protests a "terrorist war" and asserting that the unrest was orchestrated by foreign powers, particularly the U.S. and Israel. He denied any plans for executions, stating, “Hanging is out of the question,” and labeled death toll figures as part of a “misinformation campaign” by the media aimed at provoking President Trump into bombing Iran.

Trump has repeatedly threatened “very strong action” if Iran executes detained protesters, calling it a “very strong” response that could include military intervention. Trump claimed, Wednesday, he had been told by “important sources” that the killing of protesters had stopped and that executions would not proceed.

The U.S. president later told reporters that “help is on the way” for Iranians and urged them to “take over your institutions.” Trump also announced a 25% tariff on any country trading with Iran, escalating economic pressure. His administration has reportedly considered military strikes, cyber-attacks, and boosting anti-government voices online after Iranian authorities reportedly jammed 80% of illegal Starlink signal in the country, and confiscated Starlink terminals.

The riots, which Israeli media reported was hijacked and exploited by the Mossad, began on December 28, 2025 -- shortly after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's meeting with Trump in Mar-a-Lago -- initially sparked by a sharp devaluation of the Iranian rial and inflation reaching 40%, which caused severe price hikes for basic goods.

University students joined, Israeli agents mostly Indians and Afghanis quickly hijacked the movement which spread nationwide, with calls for political change and support for exiled unpopular Israeli-backed liberal Prince Reza Pahlavi.

Riots reportedly spread to 187 cities and all 31 provinces, with over 600 rioters and security personnel dead, private properties and mosques torched and more than 8,000 arrested.

In response to the riots, Iranian authorities have used water cannons, rubber bullets, and live ammunition. It has become difficult to confirm the authenticity of videos of the riots posted on social media.

To combat Mossad and CIA infiltration of their networks, Iran has imposed a nationwide internet blackout since January 8, restricting communication and making verification of stories out of Iran difficult. The state media this week, broadcast live video of millions of Iranians rallying against the riots and in support of government crackdown on the violence.

Iran’s judiciary has vowed “swift and harsh” punishment, with the attorney general declaring rioters “enemies of God.” Meanwhile, G7 nations have threatened additional sanctions, and the UN Security Council is scheduled to meet to discuss the crisis.

The U.S. has begun evacuating personnel from Qatar, and several European countries have advised citizens to leave Iran. Despite the tensions, Iran has reopened its airspace, and Trump said he will “watch and see” before deciding on military action. Leaders of Gulf Arab nations reportedly asked the U.S. president to hold on any military airstrikes, fearing regional conflagration.

Critics online, have slammed Trump for trying to involve the U.S. into "another war for Israel" in the Middle East. Iran, they argue, is not a threat to the U.S, and that only "Netanyahu's vision of Greater Israel," is served by toppling the current Iranian leadership and creating chaos in the region which is against American interests.

US Troop Killed By Unexploded Ordnance In Iraq, As CENTCOM Strikes Iranian Targets For The 9th Consecutive Night

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed the recovery of unidentified remains in Jordan from an Iranian attack on July 17 that killed two U.S. service members and left one missing. Separately, a U.S. service member was killed in action on July 18 in northern Iraq during the controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance from a downed Iranian drone, with a second service member sustaining minor injuries.

Following an Iranian ballistic missile and drone strike on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base (MSAB) in Jordan on July 17, two U.S. service members were confirmed dead and one was listed as missing. Four others were injured. On Sunday, CENTCOM search-and-recovery teams located unidentified remains at the strike location. Forensic examination is underway to verify whether the remains belong to the missing service member.

The conflict, which began in February 2026, has resulted in 17 U.S. service member deaths and over 430 injuries.

The report comes on the ninth consecutive evening of U.S. airstrikes against Iran, launched to "swiftly punish" Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) forces responsible for the Jordan attack. The strikes targeted Iranian coastal surveillance, air defense systems, and missile storage facilities.

Reports indicate U.S. strikes hit IRGC-operated Tabriz Missile Field in East Azerbaijan Province of Northwestern Iran, and the under-construction Darkhovin nuclear power plant, though the IAEA states no nuclear material was present.

"They've got very little left-they've got some missiles, they've got some drones, they've got some manufacturing ability, not much. Uhh we control the Strait," President Trump told reporters after his attendance at the FIFA World Cup final match between Spain and Argentina in New Jersey. "They don't control anything. So we'll see what happens but we hit em very hard again tonight, and we did that it honor of the...probably 3, it's probably 3, as opposed to 2....great patriots."

IRGC has already started retaliatory strikes targeting U.S. bases in Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan and Iraq. U.S offiials warned Americans living in Bahrain and Jordan of specific threats of some planned Iranian attacks.

Spain Defeats Argentina 1-0 To Win FIFA World Cup Presented By Trump

Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup, securing their second title with a 106th-minute extra-time goal by Ferran Torres. The match, held at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, was a tense affair dominated by Spanish possession, with Argentina failing to register a single shot on goal throughout the 120 minutes.

The deadlock was broken when Nico Williams headed a pass toward the goal, allowing substitute Torres to score the decisive winner early in the second half of extra time.

Argentina's chances were severely hampered after Enzo Fernández received a red card in the 93rd minute, forcing them to play with 10 men for the entire extra-time period. Despite a record-breaking performance by Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez, who made 11 saves, he could not stop Torres's strike.

Lionel Messi was visibly emotional after the match, shedding tears as he received his runner-up medal in what may be his final World Cup appearance. Immediately after the final whistle, some frustrated Argentinian players were also seen harassing some Spanish players as they celebrated. Not in the spirit of fair play.

The trophy presentation featured U.S. President Donald Trump and FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who presented the medals and the World Cup trophy on the field.

The event included a 30-minute halftime break with show featuring performances by Madonna, Justin Bieber, Shakira, BTS, and others, marking the first time a World Cup final featured such an extensive musical intermission.

Andrew Tate, Tristan Arrested In Miami, To Face Charges In UK

Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate were arrested by U.S. Marshals in Miami on Saturday, pursuant to a sealed extradition warrant issued by the United Kingdom. The arrests follow the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) approving 38 new charges, bringing the total against the brothers to 59.

Andrew faces 42 charges, including rape and trafficking, while Tristan faces 17. The alleged offenses span from July 2010 to August 2017 and involve seven total alleged victims, with the new charges stemming from four additional victims reported to Bedfordshire Police.

The specific additional charges authorized by the CPS include rape, arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and offenses relating to indecent images of a child and extreme pornography.

Andrew is charged with seven further counts of rape, three counts of trafficking facilitation, three counts of assault, and 19 counts related to indecent images and extreme pornography.

Tristan faces one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape, and three counts of facilitating trafficking. The U.S. Department of Justice confirmed the arrests were made in accordance with extradition treaties, and the brothers are expected to appear in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida early in the week following the arrest.

The Tate brothers, dual U.S. and British citizens, rose to prominence as controversial "manosphere" influencers promoting hypermasculinity. They previously faced charges in Romania for organized crime, human trafficking, and sexual exploitation, which were dropped in 2023. They returned to the United States in early 2025 after Romanian travel restrictions were lifted.

The Tate brothers' attorney, Joseph McBride, has denied all allegations, calling the arrests a "political hit" and stating they are innocent. McBride also noted that the both were held in solitary confinement as they await extradition proceedings, which they are expected to contest.

Assistant Chief Constable Karena Thomas of Bedfordshire Police said in statement: "Officers from our major crime unit have been working closely alongside the Crown Prosecution Service and both national and international law enforcement agencies as part of this complex investigation. There is no place for male violence against women and girls, and we will continue to tirelessly to support victims and investigate all reports made to us."
