NASA's experimental X-59 QueSST (Quiet Supersonic Technology) jet successfully completed its first test flight on Tuesday, from Air Force Plant 42 in Palmdale, California, marking a major milestone in the development of quiet supersonic flight technology. The aircraft, designed to break the sound barrier without producing a disruptive sonic boom, took off at about 1413 UTC, flew at subsonic speeds and reached a peak altitude of 3,660 meters, as planned for its initial test phase.

The flight, which lasted about one hour, was conducted by NASA’s lead test pilot Nils Larson and was accompanied by a chase plane.

The X-59, a one-of-a-kind experimental aircraft designed by NASA and built by Lockheed Martin’s Skunk Works for NASA, is designed to cruise at Mach 1.4 (or 1,490 kph) at an altitude of 16,764 meters, more than twice as high and nearly twice as fast as conventional airliners.

Its unique, elongated shape is engineered to transform the explosive sonic boom into a much quieter "sonic thump," comparable in volume to slamming a car door, which could allow future supersonic commercial flights over land.

The first flight was a lower-altitude loop at about 386 kph to verify system integration, airworthiness, and safety, with subsequent flights planned to progressively increase altitude and speed until supersonic flight is achieved.

The test flight occurred after the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) lifted its five-decade-old ban on supersonic flights over land in June 2025, paving the way for new noise-based certification standards.

NASA has invested over $518 million since 2018 in the X-59 program, and the aircraft was named 2025’s “Coolest Thing Made in California” by the California Manufacturers & Technology Association earlier this month.

The X-59 is equipped with an eXternal Vision System (XVS) to compensate for reduced forward visibility due to its long nose, and features a life support system, ejection seat, and g-suit for pilot safety.

The flight marks the transition from ground testing to airborne operations, with data collected from the X-59’s Flight Test Instrumentation System (FTIS) to inform future regulatory changes for supersonic flight.

If the X-59 can prove that "quiet" supersonic flight is possible, the restrictions on breaking the sound barrier above the populated U.S. could someday be lifted, allowing commercial supersonic flight.

After this first flight, the X-59 will now reside at NASA's Armstrong Flight Research Center, where it will undergo a testing campaign that will involve flying the jet over microphones placed throughout the desert and trailing other aircraft equipped with special air sensors through its shockwaves.

The QueSST program emerged in the mid-2010s as NASA's renewed push to enable overland supersonic flight by demonstrating boom mitigation viable for regulatory reconsideration, building on decades of low-boom research enabled by modern computational tools for precise pressure signature shaping.

In February 2016, NASA contracted Lockheed Martin's Skunk Works for the X-59's preliminary design phase, selecting the firm for its historical proficiency in secretive, high-performance experimental programs such as the SR-71 Blackbird and F-117 Nighthawk.

Gaza Board Of Peace, NCAG Members Announced By Trump

President Donald Trump announced the formation of the Gaza Board of Peace, Friday, as part of Phase Two of his 20-point peace plan to end the war in Gaza. The board, chaired by Trump himself, will oversee the transitional governance, reconstruction, and stabilization of the Gaza Strip following a ceasefire agreement reached in October 2025.

"It is my Great Honor to announce that THE BOARD OF PEACE has been formed. The Members of the Board will be announced shortly, but I can say with certainty that it is the Greatest and Most Prestigious Board ever assembled at any time, any place. Thank you for your attention to this matter! DONALD J. TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The founding executive board includes U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff, Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner, former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, CEO of Apollo Global Management Marc Rowan, President of the World Bank Group Ajay Banga, and Deputy National Security Adviser Robert Gabriel.

The White House confirmed that Ali Abdel Hamid Shaath, a Palestinian engineer and former minister of the Palestinian Authority, will lead the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), the technocratic administration responsible for day-to-day governance, public service restoration, and institutional rebuilding in Gaza.

Witkoff on Wednesday, announced the launch of Phase Two of Trump’s peace plan, emphasizing that it centers on Hamas’s complete demilitarization, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from much of Gaza, and the establishment of the NCAG. “The United States expects Hamas to comply fully with its obligations, including the immediate return of the final deceased hostage. Failure to do so will bring serious consequences,” he said in a post on X.

A separate 11-member Gaza Executive Board was also announced to support governance and coordination. Its members include:

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Ali Al-Thawadi Qatari diplomat, Head of Egypt’s General Intelligence Service Hassan Rashad, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Al-Hashimy, Israeli-Cypriot billionaire and real estate tycoon Yakir Gabay, Dutch diplomat and former UN envoy Sigrid Kaag, Bulgarian diplomat and former UN Middle East envoy (appointed High Representative for Gaza) Nickolay Mladenov.

Major General Jasper Jeffers was appointed to lead the International Stabilization Force (ISF), tasked with security operations, demilitarization, and the safe delivery of humanitarian aid and reconstruction materials. Aryeh Lightstone and Josh Gruenbaum were named senior advisers to manage daily strategy and operations.

The plan began in October 2025 with a ceasefire and hostage exchange. The first phase is largely complete, except for the return of one deceased hostage.

Hamas has not disarmed and continues to control much of Gaza, raising doubts about its commitment. Former Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid called the board a “diplomatic failure,” criticizing the inclusion of Turkey and Qatar.

Argentina’s President Javier Milei and Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney accepted invitations to join the board. Turkey and Egypt are examining their roles, while Qatar has been instrumental in past negotiations.

A draft charter reportedly requires a contribution of $1B for any country want to serve on the Board of Peace as permanent members. "This simply offers permanent membership to partner countries who demonstrate deep commitment to peace, security, and prosperity," of Gaza, a White House account @RapidResponse clarified Saturday.

The Gaza Board of Peace is intended to be a long-term framework, with Trump stating it may expand to other conflict zones. The White House emphasized that the U.S. is working in partnership with Israel, Arab nations, and the international community to achieve lasting peace.

However in statement Saturday, Netanyahu’s Office said: “The announcement of the composition of the board to manage Gaza, under the Board of Peace, was not coordinated with Israel and is against its policies. The prime minister instructed the foreign minister to talk to the Secretary of State about the matter."

NROL-105: SpaceX Launches Classified Payload For The US National Reconnaissance Office

SpaceX Falcon 9 launched the NROL-105 mission at 0439 UTC on January 17), from **Space Launch Complex 4 East (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California, carrying a classified payload for the U.S. National Reconnaissance Office (NRO).

The Falcon 9 rocket lifted off on a southeast trajectory, with its first stage (B1100) returning safely to Landing Zone 4(LZ-4) at Vandenberg about 7.5 minutes after liftoff, marking the second flight for that booster according to a SpaceX mission description. The launch webcast was ended shortly after landing, a standard practice for classified NRO missions, and no details on the satellite count, orbital parameters, or deployment timeline were disclosed.

NROL-105 marks SpaceX’s first national security launch of 2026 and the 12th overall mission in the NRO’s “proliferated architecture” program—a strategic shift toward deploying hundreds of small, low-cost reconnaissance satellites instead of a few large, expensive ones. This architecture enhances revisit rates, coverage, and resilience, enabling faster intelligence delivery under dynamic global conditions.

"Having hundreds of small satellites on orbit is invaluable to the NRO's mission," NRO Director Chris Scolese said in the NROL-105 press kit, which you can find here.

"They will provide greater revisit rates, increased coverage, more timely delivery of information — and ultimately help us deliver more of what our customers need even faster," he added.

The satellites were developed by SpaceX in partnership with Northrop Grumman, continuing a long-standing collaboration that began with the first proliferated architecture mission, NROL-146, in May 2024.

Saturday's launch underscores SpaceX’s expanding role in national security space operations, complementing its commercial Starlink launches. NROL-105 was SpaceX's seventh mission of 2026. Four of those launches have been devoted to building out the Starlink broadband megaconstellation.

The NROL-105 launch is part of a broader U.S. effort to modernize space-based surveillance amid growing strategic competition, particularly with China’s plans for a 200,000-satellite mega-constellation.

ADL's Greenblatt Working To Take Down Candace Owens, Tucker Carlson, Nick Fuentes

During a recent interview with Rabbi David Wolpe at Sinai Temple in Los Angeles, Jonathan Greenblatt, far-left Zionist activist and CEO of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) said that he is working “behind the scenes” to “take down” what he described as anti-Israel and antisemitic voices on the right, including American journalists and commentators Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens, and right-wing activist Nick Fuentes.

"I need people on the right to take down Tucker Carlson—so I’m trying to help [Senator] Ted Cruz,” and “I need people on the right to take down Nick Fuentes—so I’m trying to help people like [pro-Israel Jewish activist] Ben Shapiro,” Greenblatt said.

The ADL CEO called these individuals “disgusting,” “toxic,” and “revolting lunatics,” citing their rhetoric as harmful and dangerous. He labeled Fuentes as an “open, unapologetic racist, homophobe, and more than anything, an anti-Semite,” and criticized President Donald Trump for hosting Fuentes at Mar-a-Lago in 2022 along with Hip Hop mogul and businessman Ye.

Greenblatt called Fuentes a "Hispanic person" with a "good Jewish name," Joseph.

"Republican senator/presidential candidate working with the anti-white ADL to suppress speech," Carlson said referencing Cruz. "You can see why people begin to wonder about the system we currently have."

Greenblatt also targeted far-left video content creator Hasan Piker, calling him “a revolting person” and suggesting he be nicknamed “Hamas Piker” due to his criticism of Israel, saying he spreads “horrible slanderous things about Jews, about Zionists, about Israel.” He noted Piker’s influence among younger audiences via platforms like Twitch, Steam, YouTube, and Instagram.

The Zionist CEO praised figures like Senator Cruz, Shapiro, pro-Israel zealot Mark Levin, and U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson for pushing back against what he calls extremist narratives.

The ADL also revealed it is collaborating with the FBI, training law enforcement, partnering with evangelical churches, and working with tech giants like OpenAI and Meta to train AI systems and combat hate online.

Greenblatt revealed the ADL has "40 analysts working full-time, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day," monitoring extremists and sharing intelligence with the FBI. He emphasized the ADL’s efforts to pressure social media platforms to enforce their terms of service, saying, “We definitely are working a lot to try to get the platforms to kind of enforce their own terms of service so that we can pull down the most offensive hate speech.”

The ADL CEO highlighted the company's training of 20,000 officers yearly and an AI-powered legal network with 50 law firms. He disclosed that the ADL is working with "OpenAI, Alphabet (Google), Anthropic, Meta, Microsoft, and even Alibaba," to train large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT and Gemini. The ADL is also investing in Wikipedia.

All anti-Semitism complaints are scanned by "AI systems" to identify potential litigation opportunities, which are then forwarded to a network of "50,000 lawyers," Greenblatt revealed.

The ADL is also apparently partnering with the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference to develop "Sunday school curriculum" for Hispanic evangelical churches, an attempt, critics say, to spread pro-Israel propaganda in Hispanic Christian communities.

Since the Jewish state's genocidal war in Gaza, there has been an increase in anti-Israel sentiment among traditionally pro-Israel White Evangelical Christians and conservatives in America.

According to Greenblatt, the ADL has abandoned the term "anti-Semitism" in favor of "Jew hatred" after research showed the public misinterpreted "end Jew hatred" as meaning "Jews are the ones hating."

Clips of the event went viral, Friday, prompting Sinai Temple to remove the video from YouTube. Critics argue the ADL’s actions reflect a "backdoor" strategy to silence dissent and criticisms of Israel, especially from right-wing figures, while simultaneously positioning itself as a neutral antisemitism watchdog.
