Board Of Peace: Trump's Gaza-Israel Plan; Netanyahu Apologizes To Qatar
post photo preview

President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced a new 20-point peace proposal for Gaza during a joint press conference at the White House on Monday, with Trump unveiling a plan to end the war, secure the release of hostages, and establish a transitional Palestinian administration under a new "Board of Peace" chaired by Trump himself.

Netanyahu endorsed the plan, which calls for Hamas disarmament, a ceasefire, and a temporary Palestinian technocratic committee to govern Gaza, while also confirming Israel’s retention of a security perimeter and its opposition to both Hamas and the Palestinian Authority governing the territory.

As part of the announcement, Trump stated that Israel would have "full backing" to continue military action if Hamas rejects the deal, and he emphasized that the plan was shaped through consultations with Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Jordan, Indonesia, Turkey, and Pakistan.

The White House 20-point framework calls for an immediate ceasefire, the release of all Israeli hostages within 72 hours, and a phased Israeli troop withdrawal to agreed lines. In return, Israel would release 250 Palestinian prisoners serving life sentences and 1,700 Gazans detained since October 7, 2023.

The plan proposes that Hamas fighters who disarm would be granted amnesty, while those wishing to leave Gaza would be given safe passage. Gaza would be governed by a temporary, technocratic Palestinian committee, overseen by the newly created "Board of Peace." This Board will be chaired by President Trump and include other notable figures, with former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair mentioned as a potential member.

The plan also includes provisions for large-scale humanitarian aid, UN and Red Crescent supervision of aid distribution, and the eventual institution of a Palestinian state following the establishment of a demilitarized Gaza and the reform of the Palestinian Authority.

At the press conference, Trump hailed the agreement as "potentially one of the great days ever in civilization" and a "historic day for peace," stating that the plan achieves Israel's war aims. He challenged Palestinians to "take responsibility for their destiny" and condemned terrorism, framing the plan as a chance for self-determination.

Trump expressed optimism that Hamas wants to accept the deal, stating he was "hearing that Hamas wants to get this done too," but warned that rejection would lead to Israel receiving "full backing" to "finish the job."

Netanyahu confirmed his support, stating the plan "achieves our war aims" and that Gaza would have a peaceful, civilian administration run neither by Hamas nor the Palestinian Authority, with Hamas being "disarmed" and Gaza "demilitarized."

In a separate development, the White House confirmed that Netanyahu had expressed "deep regret" to Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani for the Israeli air strike on Hamas leadership in Doha on September 9, 2025. This apology, reportedly made in a phone call, is seen as crucial to facilitating Qatar's role as a key intermediary in negotiations with Hamas.

"Israel apologizes for its attack on Qatar during a call between the US President, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Israeli Prime Minister," Qatar's Foreign Ministry wrote on X.

Qatari and Egyptian officials have reportedly delivered the White House's 20-point peace proposal to Hamas officials in Doha, though Hamas had not yet formally responded. The US, Israel, and Qatar are expected to launch a "trilateral mechanism" to begin dialogue on the plan.

The plan represents a significant shift from previous US policy, particularly in its explicit pathway to a future Palestinian state, which is contingent upon the successful implementation of the transitional governance and the reform of the Palestinian Authority.

The creation of the "Board of Peace" chaired by Trump is a central and novel feature of the proposal, aiming to oversee the redevelopment and governance of Gaza until a stable Palestinian administration can take over. The plan also includes the return of the remains of deceased hostages and the remains of 15 Gazans for each Israeli captive’s remains. The families of the Israeli hostages have expressed profound gratitude to Trump for his commitment to securing their release.

“The Foreign Ministers of the State of Qatar, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the Republic of Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Republic of Turkey, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Arab Republic of Egypt welcome President Donald J Trump's leadership and his sincere efforts to end the war in Gaza, and assert their confidence in his ability to find a path to peace," the group wrote in a joint statement.

"They emphasize the importance of the partnership with the United States in securing peace in the region. Along these lines, the ministers welcome the announcement by President Trump regarding his proposal to end the war, rebuild Gaza, prevent the displacement of the Palestinian people and advance a comprehensive peace, as well as his announcement that he will not allow the annexation of the West Bank."

Here is the U.S.' 20-point peace proposal:

1. Gaza will be a deradicalized terror-free zone that does not pose a threat to its neighbors.

2. Gaza will be redeveloped for the benefit of the people of Gaza, who have suffered more than enough.

3. If both sides agree to this proposal, the war will immediately end. Israeli forces will withdraw to the agreed upon line to prepare for a hostage release. During this time, all military operations, including aerial and artillery bombardment, will be suspended, and battle lines will remain frozen until conditions are met for the complete staged withdrawal.

4. Within 72 hours of Israel publicly accepting this agreement, all hostages, alive and deceased, will be returned.

5. Once all hostages are released, Israel will release 250 life sentence prisoners plus 1700 Gazans who were detained after October 7th 2023, including all women and children detained in that context. For every Israeli hostage whose remains are released, Israel will release the remains of 15 deceased Gazans.

6. Once all hostages are returned, Hamas members who commit to peaceful co-existence and to decommission their weapons will be given amnesty. Members of Hamas who wish to leave Gaza will be provided safe passage to receiving countries.

7. Upon acceptance of this agreement, full aid will be immediately sent into the Gaza Strip. At a minimum, aid quantities will be consistent with what was included in the January 19, 2025, agreement regarding humanitarian aid, including rehabilitation of infrastructure (water, electricity, sewage), rehabilitation of hospitals and bakeries, and entry of necessary equipment to remove rubble and open roads.

8. Entry of distribution and aid in the Gaza Strip will proceed without interference from the two parties through the United Nations and its agencies, and the Red Crescent, in addition to other international institutions not associated in any manner with either party. Opening the Rafah crossing in both directions will be subject to the same mechanism implemented under the January 19, 2025 agreement.

9. Gaza will be governed under the temporary transitional governance of a technocratic, apolitical Palestinian committee, responsible for delivering the day-to-day running of public services and municipalities for the people in Gaza. This committee will be made up of qualified Palestinians and international experts, with oversight and supervision by a new international transitional body, the “Board of Peace,” which will be headed and chaired by President Donald J. Trump, with other members and heads of State to be announced, including Former Prime Minister Tony Blair. This body will set the framework and handle the funding for the redevelopment of Gaza until such time as the Palestinian Authority has completed its reform program, as outlined in various proposals, including President Trump’s peace plan in 2020 and the Saudi-French proposal, and can securely and effectively take back control of Gaza. This body will call on best international standards to create modern and efficient governance that serves the people of Gaza and is conducive to attracting investment.

10. A Trump economic development plan to rebuild and energize Gaza will be created by convening a panel of experts who have helped birth some of the thriving modern miracle cities in the Middle East. Many thoughtful investment proposals and exciting development ideas have been crafted by well-meaning international groups, and will be considered to synthesize the security and governance frameworks to attract and facilitate these investments that will create jobs, opportunity, and hope for future Gaza.

11. A special economic zone will be established with preferred tariff and access rates to be negotiated with participating countries.

12. No one will be forced to leave Gaza, and those who wish to leave will be free to do so and free to return. We will encourage people to stay and offer them the opportunity to build a better Gaza.

13. Hamas and other factions agree to not have any role in the governance of Gaza, directly, indirectly, or in any form. All military, terror, and offensive infrastructure, including tunnels and weapon production facilities, will be destroyed and not rebuilt. There will be a process of demilitarization of Gaza under the supervision of independent monitors, which will include placing weapons permanently beyond use through an agreed process of decommissioning, and supported by an internationally funded buy back and reintegration program all verified by the independent monitors. New Gaza will be fully committed to building a prosperous economy and to peaceful coexistence with their neighbors.

14. A guarantee will be provided by regional partners to ensure that Hamas, and the factions, comply with their obligations and that New Gaza poses no threat to its neighbors or its people.

15. The United States will work with Arab and international partners to develop a temporary International Stabilization Force (ISF) to immediately deploy in Gaza. The ISF will train and provide support to vetted Palestinian police forces in Gaza, and will consult with Jordan and Egypt who have extensive experience in this field. This force will be the long-term internal security solution. The ISF will work with Israel and Egypt to help secure border areas, along with newly trained Palestinian police forces. It is critical to prevent munitions from entering Gaza and to facilitate the rapid and secure flow of goods to rebuild and revitalize Gaza. A deconfliction mechanism will be agreed upon by the parties.

16. Israel will not occupy or annex Gaza. As the ISF establishes control and stability, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will withdraw based on standards, milestones, and timeframes linked to demilitarization that will be agreed upon between the IDF, ISF, the guarantors, and the Unites States, with the objective of a secure Gaza that no longer poses a threat to Israel, Egypt, or its citizens. Practically, the IDF will progressively hand over the Gaza territory it occupies to the ISF according to an agreement they will make with the transitional authority until they are withdrawn completely from Gaza, save for a security perimeter presence that will remain until Gaza is properly secure from any resurgent terror threat.

17. In the event Hamas delays or rejects this proposal, the above, including the scaled-up aid operation, will proceed in the terror-free areas handed over from the IDF to the ISF.

18. An interfaith dialogue process will be established based on the values of tolerance and peaceful co-existence to try and change mindsets and narratives of Palestinians and Israelis by emphasizing the benefits that can be derived from peace.

19. While Gaza re-development advances and when the PA reform program is faithfully carried out, the conditions may finally be in place for a credible pathway to Palestinian self-determination and statehood, which we recognize as the aspiration of the Palestinian people.

20. The United States will establish a dialogue between Israel and the Palestinians to agree on a political horizon for peaceful and prosperous co-existence.

Electronic Arts Acquired by PIF, Silver Lake, Affinity Partners In $55B Transaction

Electronic Arts (EA) has agreed to be acquired in an all-cash take-private transaction valued at about $55 billion by an investor consortium comprising Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), Silver Lake, and Affinity Partners.

Upon closing of the deal, EA will become a private company, remain headquartered in Redwood City, California, and continue to be led by current CEO Andrew Wilson.

The deal, announced on Monday, will see EA stockholders receive $210 per share in cash, representing a 25% premium over the unaffected share price of $168.32 as of September 25, 2025. The transaction, which is expected to close in the first quarter of fiscal year 2027 (Q1 FY27), is subject to approval by EA stockholders and necessary regulatory clearances, including those from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) and antitrust authorities.

The acquiring consortium includes PIF, private investment funds affiliated with Silver Lake, and private investment funds affiliated with Affinity Partners  PIF, an existing shareholder with a 9.9% stake, will roll over its shares into the new holding entity.

The financing structure consists of approximately $36 billion in equity from the consortium and $20 billion in fully committed debt financing from JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A., with $18 billion expected to be funded at closing; the deal is not subject to a financing condition.

The transaction represents the largest all-cash sponsor take-private investment in history and is intended to accelerate EA’s strategic vision, enabling the company to innovate faster and expand globally.

The deal follows a period of significant market speculation, with EA’s stock rising 15% on Friday, September 26, 2025, after reports of a potential private acquisition emerged.

The consortium’s partners bring deep expertise in gaming, entertainment, and sports, with PIF highlighting its commitment to the global gaming and esports sectors, Silver Lake emphasizing EA’s strong growth trajectory under CEO Andrew Wilson, and Affinity Partners’ CEO Jared Kushner (President Trump's son-in-law) expressing personal enthusiasm for EA’s legacy and future.

Moldovans Head To The Polls, As Durov Reveals Telegram Channels Censorship Requests From French Intelligence Services

Telegram founder and CEO Pavel Durov has publicly revealed that approximately one year ago, while he was detained in Paris, French intelligence services contacted him through an intermediary, requesting he assist the Moldovan government in censoring specific Telegram channels ahead of Moldova's 2024 presidential elections. This revelation comes as Moldovans head to polls Sunday to vote in parliamentary elections.

Durov stated that after reviewing the initially flagged channels, Telegram removed a few that clearly violated its rules, but refused a subsequent request to block a second list of channels, which he claimed were legitimate and politically motivated, as they expressed views disliked by French and Moldovan authorities.

The second list of channels labeled "problematic," unlike the first request, contained channels most of which are all legitimate and fully compliant with Telegram's rules. Their only commonality was that they voiced political positions disliked by the French and Moldovan governments. Telegram refused to act on this request.

The intermediary reportedly informed Durov that, in exchange for the cooperation, French intelligence would "say good things" about him to the judge who had ordered his arrest in August of the previous year.

Durov deemed this unacceptable, as it would constitute either an attempt to interfere in the judicial process or an exploitation of his legal situation to influence political developments in Eastern Europe, a pattern he claims to have observed in Romania.

The CEO reiterated Telegram's commitment to freedom of speech and its policy of not removing content for political reasons. He stated he would continue to expose attempts to pressure the platform into censorship.

Durov, a dual French citizen since 2021, was arrested in France in August 2024 on charges related to child pornography and cybersecurity, which were later dropped, and is currently under judicial supervision.

Meanwhile, Moldova’s Central Electoral Commission (CEC) excluded the populist ant-war Heart of Moldova party from participating in Sunday's parliamentary elections, citing a controversial court-ordered 12-month suspension of the party’s activities due to allegations of illegal financing, voter bribery, and money laundering.

The decision, based on a ruling by the Chișinău Court of Appeal, removed all candidates proposed by the party from the Patriotic Electoral Bloc (BEP) list, requiring the bloc to submit an updated list within 24 hours to meet electoral thresholds. The move has intensified political tensions in a country already polarized by bogus claims of Russian interference in the election process.

The CEC also excluded the Moldova Mare (Greater Moldova) party from the election on the same day, citing similar allegations of illegal financing, undeclared foreign funds, and participation in a "camouflaged electoral bloc."

The exclusion of the Heart of Moldova and Moldova Mare is part of a broader pattern, with other opposition parties like the Victory Bloc and the SOR Party having been deregistered or dissolved earlier in 2025 and 2023, respectively.

The Heart of Moldova is one of four parties in the populist Patriotic Electoral Bloc (BEP), which is seen as a major opponent to the ruling Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS).

Irina Vlah, the leader of the Heart of Moldova, condemned the decision as a "political spectacle" and "abusive," claiming it was a pre-planned effort by the ruling party to silence opposition.

With over 95% of votes counted Sunday, the ruling PAS party, has secured a lead in Moldova's parliamentary election, according to preliminary results. The party is projected to win 49% of the vote, well ahead of the Patriotic Electoral Bloc, which is on under 25%.

The results are preliminary, and final outcomes may shift slightly as the remaining ballots, particularly from the diaspora, are counted. Turnout was reported at 52.12%, with over 1.59 million voters participating, including 264,000 from the Moldovan diaspora.

President Maia Sandu, whose party leads the vote, has been accused of using anti-Russia 'fearmongering' and witch hunt against opposition parties, to shift the election in favor of the PAS party. She had claimed that the future of Moldova's democracy is at stake and accused Russia of massive interference.

Grand Blanc Michigan LDS Church Shooting Kills At Least 4

An ex-Marine, Thomas Jacob Sanford, 40, fatally shot at least four people and injured eight others during a Sunday service at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc Township, Michigan, before setting the building ablaze and being killed by police.

The attack, which occurred around 10:25 a.m. on Sunday, involved Sanford ramming his pickup truck into the church, opening fire with an assault rifle, and using an accelerant to start the fire. Authorities are investigating the incident as an act of targeted violence.

The church, located about 80 kilometers north of Detroit, was crowded with hundreds of worshippers during the service when the attack began. Witnesses reported hearing a loud boom followed by gunshots, and congregants fled the building as the fire spread, with flames and thick black smoke visible for kilometers.

First responders, including striking nurses from Henry Ford Genesys Hospital, rushed to the scene to assist despite their ongoing labor dispute.

Two bodies were found in the debris, and authorities believe two others died in the fire, though the total death toll could rise as the search for victims continues.

Sanford, a U.S. Marine veteran who served from 2004 to 2008 and was deployed to Iraq, was identified as the suspect. He was from Burton, Michigan, and lived on Atherton Road.

The FBI is leading the investigation, and law enforcement is searching Sanford’s residence and examining potential digital media and explosive devices found at the scene.

The attack occurred the day after the death of the Mormon Church’s president, Russell M. Nelson, 101, and coincided with a mass shooting in North Carolina, making it the second mass shooting in less than 24 hours.

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and President Donald Trump both condemned the violence, with Trump calling it a "targeted attack on Christians."
