A suspect in the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk has been arrested in Utah, identified as Tyler Robinson, 22, who was taken into custody late Thursday night after his father reported him to authorities.

Robinson confessed to his father, who then contacted a youth pastor and U.S. Marshals, leading to his apprehension. The arrest followed a manhunt after Kirk was shot during a debate at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, with officials describing the act as a political assassination.

President Donald Trump announced the arrest on Fox and Friends, expressing a high degree of certainty in the suspect's capture and stating he hopes the killer receives the death penalty.

The suspect was apprehended in St. George, Utah, roughly 250 miles from the university where the shooting occurred. His father recognized him from photos released by law enforcement, which showed a person wearing a dark long-sleeved shirt with an American flag and eagle, dark pants, a cap, and sunglasses. After the father urged him to turn himself in, Robinson initially refused but later changed his mind, leading to his arrest. FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed the suspect was taken into custody within 33 hours of the shooting.

The investigation involved over 7,000 tips and 200 interviews. Law enforcement sources believe the suspect arrived on campus in a gray Dodge Challenger, changed clothes before and after the shooting, and fled by jumping from the roof of the Losee Center building. The FBI released surveillance images and video of the suspect fleeing, and a $100,000 reward was offered for information leading to his capture.

Authorities revealed that Robinson had coordinated with others on the messaging app Discord, where he discussed retrieving a rifle from a "drop point," leaving it in a bush wrapped in a towel, and sharing messages related to the weapon's location. Robinson's roommate provided investigators with access to the Discord messages from an account named "Tyler."

The suspected murder weapon—a bolt-action Mauser .30-06 rifle—was recovered wrapped in a dark towel in a wooded area near the university campus. Forensic evidence, including bullet casings, was found at the scene. Inscriptions on the casings included "Hey fascist! Catch!" and "O bella ciao..."  The rifle had a scope mounted on it.

The suspect is currently facing multiple felony charges under Utah law, including aggravated murder. Governor Spencer Cox confirmed Utah intends to seek the death penalty if Robinson is convicted.

Robinson was a third-year student at Dixie Technical College in the electrical apprenticeship program and had previously attended Utah State University as a pre-engineering major before taking a leave of absence in 2021. He was registered to vote as "unaffiliated" in 2021.

A resident of Southern Utah, Robinson reportedly became more extreme in his political in recent years and had discussed Kirk's upcoming visit with a family member, expressing negative views about him. His father, Matt Robinson, is a 27-year veteran of the Washington County Sheriff's Department, and his mother, Amber Robinson, worked as a care worker.

Robinson was "pretty left on everything," according to a friend reportedly, and was the only member of his family that was really leftist... the rest of his family was Republican." He would "always just be ranting and arguing about," the friend said reportedly.

During his appearance on Fox News, Trump blamed radical left-wing media, Democrat activists and donors like globalist billionaire George Soros for inciting political violence.

"We're going to look into Soros because I think it's a RICO case against him and other people because this is more than protests. This is real agitation; this is riots on the street — and we're going to look into that," Trump told Fox and Friends.

Charlie Kirk's Growing Criticsm Of Israeli Influence In US Politics Sparked Backlash From Netanyahu Allies

The political assissination of Kirk has led to wild speculations online after some previously unreported behind-the-scenes story about the developing rift between the TPUSA founder and his rich pro-Iseal donors.

Kirk’s growing criticism of Israeli influence in U.S. politics had reportedly provoked a fierce backlash from allies of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, leaving Kirk angry and fearful in the months before his death.

The popular conservative commentator and TPUSA founder had reportedly rejected an offer from Netanyahu earlier in 2025 to funnel significant Zionist funding into TPUSA, America’s largest conservative youth organization.

Kirk, who had long been a staunch supporter of Israel, reportedly saw the offer as an attempt to silence his increasing public skepticism about Israel’s sway over Washington. He began questioning the Jewish nation's influence, particularly after witnessing what he perceived as Netanyahu’s efforts to control Trump administration personnel decisions and leverage billionaire donors like Miriam Adelson to maintain influence over the White House.

The TPUSA had reportedly privately warned President Trump in June 2025 against bombing Iran at Israel’s behest, a conversation that reportedly led to a heated rebuke from Trump. This incident deepened Kirk’s belief that the U.S. president was under the sway of a foreign power, pushing the country toward disastrous conflicts.

Kirk’s shift in stance coincided with a broader backlash among younger Republicans, with only 24% sympathizing with Israel over Palestinians amid Israel’s ongoing assault on Gaza.

At TPUSA’s July 2025 Student Action Summit, Kirk allowed popular conservative speakers Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, and Dave Smith to openly criticize Israel’s actions and influence, including speculation about Jeffrey Epstein’s ties to Israeli intelligence.

The July event marked a significant departure from Kirk’s earlier pro-Israel rhetoric, which had been fueled by Zionist donors since TPUSA’s founding in 2012. The shift infuriated Netanyahu’s wealthy U.S. allies, who bombarded Kirk with hostile messages, demanding he realign with their agenda. Kirk’s friend reportedly described him as both "alienated and frightened" by the intensity of this backlash.

Kirk publicly addressed the pressure he faced in an August 6 interview with Megyn Kelly, expressing frustration at being censored by pro-Israel “leaders” and “stakeholders.” He noted that he faced greater restrictions on criticizing Israel than Israelis themselves, highlighting the dozens of menacing texts he received.

In a September 9 interview with Ben Shapiro, Kirk again raised concerns about media narratives surrounding Israel, suggesting a need for scrutiny. His friend reportedly noted that Kirk’s resentment of Netanyahu’s influence was shared by others in Trump’s inner circle, with Trump himself reportedly fearful of defying the Israeli leader.

Trump administration had reportedly uncovered Israeli spying efforts, including electronic devices placed on Secret Service vehicles, echoing a 2019 Politico report about Israeli surveillance near the White House. While unconfirmed, these claims fueled speculation about Israel’s role in Kirk’s death, particularly after a viral post by Infowars’ Harrison Smith, citing a source close to Kirk, claimed Kirk feared Israel would kill him if he turned against them.

Netanyahu swiftly denied any involvement in Kirk’s assassination during a September 11 NewsMax interview, framing the killing as the work of “radical Islamists” and “ultra-progressives.” He issued multiple statements eulogizing Kirk, emphasizing their recent interactions and portraying Kirk as a steadfast ally of Israel, while omitting Kirk’s rejection of his funding offer.

Kirk’s death sparked widespread speculation and distrust, with many questioning the official narrative due to federal law enforcement’s initial mishandling of the case. Pro-Israel commentators like Ben Shapiro, who criticized TPUSA’s “big tent” approach days before the assassination, announced plans to continue Kirk’s campus speaking efforts.

The unresolved tensions over Kirk’s evolving views on Israel, coupled with his assassination, have left a lasting impact on the conservative movement, with uncertainty about where his “turning point” on Israel might have led.

=================

American Conservative activist and Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk was fatally shot during a "Prove Me Wrong" debate at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, Sept. 10, while speaking to an audience of over 3,000 people.

The suspect remains at large, and authorities have released images of a "person of interest," describing the weapon used as a high-powered, bolt-action rifle, with law enforcement stating they have "good video footage" of the suspect who fled the scene. Law enforcement officials, including the FBI and Utah Department of Public Safety, are actively investigating the incident.

Two individuals were briefly taken into custody but were released after being interviewed; neither was linked to the shooting. Authorities believe the attack was targeted, and the suspect is described as possibly "college age." The university has closed for the remainder of the week, and classes are suspended until Monday.

Kirk, 31, was a prominent conservative activist and co-founder of Turning Point USA (TPUSA), which he helped grow into a major grassroots organization mobilizing young voters for the Republican Party. He was a close ally of President Donald Trump, known for his energetic campus debates, a nationally syndicated radio show, and a best-selling author

The Utah Valley University event was the first stop on a 14-city "American Comeback Tour." Kirk was known for his direct engagement with opposing views, often debating topics like abortion, climate change, transgender rights, and gun control. He was married to Erika Frantzve and had two young children - all three were there when he was shot.

The shooting occurred as he was answering a question about mass shootings, with eyewitnesses reporting he was struck in the neck.

President Trump announced Kirk's death on Truth Social, calling him "the best of America" and "the Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk," expressing deep personal loss. He ordered American flags to be lowered to half-staff in honor of the 31-year-old activist.

In a video message later, Trump blamed "radical left political violence" for the attack, claiming that rhetoric comparing conservatives to Nazis and mass murderers has led to terrorism in the country.

In remarks Thursday, at a September 11 observance event in remembrance of the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center in 2001, the President called Kirk's killing a "political assassination," and announced plans to posthumously award him the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

The White House has reportedly begun tightening security as shock and anger reverberate through the Trump administration after Kirk's assassination. The president told reporters Thursday, he spoke to Kirk’s wife, that they had a “long talk” and that she is “devastated, absolutely devastated.”

Vance Says Trump Not Controlled By Israel, As Heritage Foundation Backs Tucker Carlson Over Nick Fuentes Interview Fallout

US Vice President JD Vance addressed concerns about Israel's influence on American foreign policy during a Turning Point USA (TPUSA) event at the University of Mississippi on Wednesday, stating that President Donald Trump is not controlled by Israel and that US policy is driven by American interests.

Trump, Vance, and other members of the administration were in Israel earlier this month to celebrate the release of 20 living hostages held by Hamas. They were also celebrating the ceasefire deal that came two years after Hamas militants stormed into Israel and killed about 1,200 people triggering a genocidal military bombardment of Gaza, causing famine and killing about 70,000 Palestinians.

“I’m a Christian man, and I’m just confused why there’s this notion that we might owe Israel something or that they are our greatest ally or that we have to support this multi-hundred-billion dollar foreign aid package to Israel to cover this — to quote Charlie Kirk — ethnic cleansing in Gaza,” a student asked Vance during the Q&A at the TPUSA event. “I’m just confused why this idea has come around, considering that not only does their religion not agree with ours, but openly supports the prosecution of ours.”

The question drew cheers from the crowd before Vance responded.

Vance emphasized that the US could only secure the recent Gaza ceasefire by applying leverage to Israel, framing the administration's actions as evidence of its independence from Israeli influence. He also acknowledged theological differences between Christians and Jews but stressed shared interests, such as preserving access to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem.

“The president of the United States could only get that peace deal done by actually being willing to apply leverage to the state of Israel,” Vance said. “So when people say that Israel is somehow manipulating or controlling the president of the United States, they are not controlling this president of the United States, which is one of the reasons why we have been able to have some of the success we have had in the Middle East.”

Responding to the second part of the student's question, Vance said there are “significant theological disagreements” between Christians and Jews, but that both sides can work together to preserve religious sites like the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem.

“My attitude is, if we can work with our friends in Israel to make sure Christians have safe access to that site, that’s an obvious area of common interest. I’m fine with that,” Vance said, and then added, “What I’m not okay with is any country coming before the interests of American citizens.”

This exchange reflects a broader trend of rising anti-Israel sentiments within the American right, fueled by American public revulsion at the genocide of Palestinian children in Gaza by the Israel Defense Force in Gaza.

Prominent American conservative and right-wing figures like Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, commentators like Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, Dave Smith, Megyn Kelly, Nick Fuentes and deceased TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk, who have harshly criticized Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli influence on politicians and administration officials in the U.S. They argue that Israel has become a liability as an ally, pushing the U.S. to fight its "Greater Israel" wars in the Middle East in recent decades entirely at the cost of American blood and trillions in tax dollars.

Many conservatives have also raised concerns about the personal and social cost associated with criticizing Israel. Critics of Netanyahu and Israeli influence on American foreign policy often face accusation of promoting antisemitism, and are de-platformed by big tech and financial institutions which are mostly controlled by Jewish executives.

Vance's comments align with this growing faction within the MAGA movement that views Israel critically, often framing US support as a form of undue influence. Young conservatives have used platforms like TPUSA to question Israel's legitimacy and raise concerns about Jewish control of important American institutions like the banks and media. The vice president’s defense of the US-Israel relationship, while emphasizing American interests, has been interpreted by some as a tacit endorsement of this critical stance on Israel.

Heritage Foundation Backs Tucker Carlson Over Nick Fuentes Interview Fallout

The Heritage Foundation’s Kevin Roberts has also echoed this sentiment, suggesting Christians have the right to criticize Israel, further legitimizing such discourse within conservative circles.

Following Carlson's recent interview with Fuentes which has only intensified the debate over Israeli influence, there have been calls by Jewish neoconservatives for Carlson to be de-platformed and 'canceled.' Rumors circulated online Wednesday, that the Heritage Foundation was about to dissociate itself from Carlson who remains a key figure in the MAGA movement.

Roberts released a video message Thursday on X, expressing full support for Carlson. "My loyalty as a Christian and as an American is to Christ first and to America always," he said in the viral video.

"The Heritage Foundation didn't become the intellectual backbone of the conservative movement by canceling our own people or policing the consciences of Christians, and we won't start doing that now, Roberts said. ".....We will always defend truth. We will always defend America, and we will always defend our friends against the slander of bad actors who serve someone else's agenda."

"That includes Tucker Carlson, who remains, and as I have said before, always will be a close friend of the Heritage Foundation," Roberts declared.

"I disagree with and even abhor things that Nick Fuentes says, but canceling him is not the answer either," he said. "...When we disagree with a person's thoughts and opinions, we challenge those ideas in debate, and we have seen success in this approach as we continue to dismantle the vile ideas of the left."

Western Union To Launch Stablecoin: USDPT

Western Union has announced plans to launch its U.S. Dollar Payment Token (USDPT), a dollar-backed stablecoin built on the Solana blockchain and issued by Anchorage Digital Bank, with availability expected in the first half of 2026.

This move marks a significant expansion into digital assets, aiming to leverage Solana's high-speed, low-cost infrastructure to enhance cross-border payments and treasury operations, while integrating with a new Digital Asset Network to provide seamless cash off-ramps via partner wallets and Western Union’s global retail footprint.

The USDPT stablecoin will be pegged 1:1 to the U.S. dollar and will allow users to send, receive, spend, and hold the digital asset through partner exchanges, expanding money movement options for customers, agents, and partners.

The initiative is driven by a shared vision with Solana and Anchorage Digital to modernize financial infrastructure, with Anchorage Digital providing federally regulated stablecoin issuance and digital asset custody solutions.

Western Union's decision follows the passage of the GENIUS Act in mid-2025, which established the first federal regulatory framework for stablecoins, providing clarity on 1:1 reserves and audits, enabling regulated institutions like Western Union to enter the space with compliant operations.

The company positions the launch as a natural evolution of its 175-year history of using technology to connect people, aiming to make financial services more accessible, efficient, and inclusive globally.

This development comes amid a growing trend of traditional financial institutions and fintechs entering the stablecoin market, following announcements from JPMorgan Chase (JPM Coin), PayPal (PYUSD), and Zelle’s parent company, Early Warning Services, which is researching stablecoin use for fast cross-border payments.

Nick Fuentes Slams Jewish Tribalism, Israel, In Tucker Carlson Interview

American Conservative commentator Tucker Carlson hosted right-wing activist Nick Fuentes on his popular podcast published Tuesday, in a viral interview where the two discussed their shared criticism of "Christian Zionists" and the perceived allegiance of "Jewish neoconservatives" to Israel, a stance that aligns with Fuentes's long-standing 'America first' views.

The conversation, which drew swift reactions online, centered on neoconservatism and Jewish identity, with Fuentes arguing that the Jewish diaspora's loyalty to Israel undermines American national interest. Carlson, while distancing himself from Fuentes's more extreme rhetoric, expressed strong opposition to Christian Zionism, calling it a "heresy" and sayng he disliked it more than any other group, a position that has triggered many pro-Israel neoconservatives.

The interview marked the first public meeting between the two conservative figures, with Fuentes asserting that "neoconservatism" and Israel policy are deeply motivated by Jewish ethnic identity and religious allegiance, framing the diaspora as unassimilable and prioritizing Israel over the United States or any other host country.

Fuentes, who has faced accusations of antisemitism, also claimed his best friend and assistant are Jewish.

Carlson agreed with Fuentes on the critique of U.S. foreign policy toward Israel, calling the relationship "insane and it hurts us," and condemned the Israeli position that all Gaza residents are terrorists by birth, calling it incompatible with Christianity and Western civilization.

On the topic of women, Fuentes, who many suspect is a homosexual, expressed contempt for feminism, pornography, and marijuana, claiming they ruin young men, a view Carlson did not challenge.

Fuentes, 27, recounted his radicalization, beginning as a fan of neoconservative Jewish figures like commentators Mark Levin and Ben Shapiro, but breaking with them over their pro-Israel stances, particularly after being targeted with censorship push by The Daily Wire and other Jewish-run media outlets and platforms, for questioning U.S. support for Israel.

Carlson, while rejecting the idea that "the Jews" are responsible for global issues, acknowledged the power of the "Christian Zionists" like U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, former National Security Advisor John Bolton and former President George W. Bush; and expressed offense at the ideology as a Christian.

The interview sparked swift reactions online many pro-Israel neoconservative and Jewish commentators, condemning Carlson for "platforming" "known antisemite;" and Senator Ted Cruz stating, "It’s remarkable, and sad, watching Tucker turn into Nick Fuentes."  They argue that platforming of Fuentes signals a dangerous shift toward mainstreaming so-called antisemitism within the conservative movement.

However many prominent conservatives online, praised Carlson for courageously upholding the American spirit of open dialogue, debate and free speech. They argue that the best response to 'bad speech' is more speech not less, and that de-platforming and ostracizing people only leads to more radicalization and extremism.
