Google held its annual Made by Google event on Wednesday, in New York City, unveiling its new Pixel 10 series, Pixel Watch 4, Pixel Buds 2A, and a suite of new AI features powered by Gemini.
The event, hosted by Jimmy Fallon, featured a talk-show format with celebrity appearances and demonstrations of new hardware and software capabilities, including live call translation and AI-powered photo editing.
Pixel 10 Series: The lineup includes the standard Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the new Pixel 10 Pro Fold foldable. All models feature the new Tensor G5 processor, a dedicated 5x telephoto lens (previously exclusive to Pro models), and improved camera systems with 10-bit HDR video recording.
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold boasts a larger 6.4-inch cover display, thinner bezels, a stronger hinge, and an IP68 dust and water resistance rating, a first for the foldable line. The standard Pixel 10 and Pro models have 6.3-inch displays, while the Pro XL has a 6.8-inch display The Pixel 10 series is now available for pre-order.
Pixel Watch 4: This model features a thicker design, longer battery life, smaller bezels, and a brighter screen. It introduces AI capabilities, allowing users to access Gemini by simply lifting their wrist.
Pixel Buds 2A: These earbuds offer active noise cancellation and come in new colors (Hazel and Iris), marking an upgrade from the first generation.
AI and Software Features: The event heavily emphasized Gemini AI. Key features include Camera Coach, which provides real-time photo-taking tips, and a conversational photo editing tool where users can describe edits verbally.
Live call translation was demonstrated, translating speech between English and Spanish in real-time Google also announced Pixel Journal, a new AI-powered journaling app, and a new AI personal health coach for the Fitbit app. Gemini for Home, a new AI voice assistant for smart home devices, was introduced, promising more complex requests and two-way conversations.
The event’s highlight was Google’s AI voice cloning and translation tool, which translates calls in real-time while preserving the caller’s voice, alongside Take a Message, which transcribes voicemails instantly. These AI features signal Google’s ambition to integrate intelligent, context-aware functionality across its ecosystem.
Accessories: Google launched its "PixelSnap" magnetic accessories, including a $40 Qi2-compatible charger, a $50 magnetic phone case, and a $30 ring stand, leveraging the Qi2 standard. The event also revealed that purchasing a Pixel 10 Pro or Pro Fold includes a free year of Google AI Pro, which includes Gemini, Flow, Whisk, NotebookLM, Jules, 2TB of storage, and AI credits.
Google also highlighted its push for messaging parity, noting that RCS support on both iOS and Android means the "blue and green" text bubble distinction is largely resolved.
The Pixel 10 series devices are available for order, however the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, has a later release date due to supply chain issues, with shipping and availability expected on October 9, 2025.
