Trump Proposes Plan For US To Take Over, Rebuild Gaza During Press Conference With Netanyahu

US President Donald Trump suggested during a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House that the United States will take over the Gaza Strip and own it. Trump stated that the US will "level the site" and create an economic development that will supply unlimited numbers of jobs and housing for the people of the area, aiming to turn Gaza into the "Riviera of the Middle East."

"The U.S. will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it, too," Trump said Tuesday evening. "We'll own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous, unexplored bombs and other weapons on the site."

"Level the site and get rid of the destroyed buildings, level it out, create an economic development that will supply unlimited numbers of jobs and housing for the people of the area," he said. "Do a real job. Do something different. Just can't go back. If you go back, it's going to end up the same way it has for 100 years."

The US President suggested that Palestinians should be temporarily relocated to other areas, with the US helping to find "numerous pieces of land" in Egypt, Jordan and other nearby countries, for them to build new homes, and that the Gaza Strip could be developed into a thriving economic zone.

When asked about taking over the Gaza Strip, Trump said he could see the U.S. in a "long-term ownership position" of the piece of land, which would likely bring stability to the Middle East.

"I see it bringing great stability to that part of the Middle East and maybe the entire Middle East," Trump said. "And everybody I've spoken to – this was not a decision made lightly – everybody I've spoken to loves the idea of the United States owning that piece of land. Developing and creating thousands of jobs with something that will be magnificent in a really magnificent area that nobody would know. Nobody can look because all they see is death and destruction and rubble."

Prime Minister Netanyahu praised Trump's "outside the box" thinking and stated that Israel must "finish the job in Gaza" to ensure lasting peace in the region.

Netanyahu, when also asked about the Gaza Strip, reiterated to the media that he has three goals, one of which is to "make sure that Gaza never poses a threat to Israel again."

"President Trump is taking it to a much higher level," the Israeli leader said. "He sees a different – he sees a different future for that piece of land that has been the focus of so much terrorism, so much, so many attacks against us, so many, so many trials and so many tribulations. He has a different idea, and I think it's worth paying attention to this."

The pair's White House meeting included discussing the current ceasefire deal between Israel and the Hamas terror group and its future, Iran's grip on the Middle East and resettling Gaza residents in other nations.

"In our meetings today, the prime minister and I focused on the future, discussing how we can work together to ensure Hamas is eliminated and ultimately restore peace to a very troubled region," Trump said during the press conference. "It's been troubled, but what's happened in the last four years has not been good."

Trump said the Gaza Strip has become "a symbol of death and destruction for so many decades and so bad for the people anywhere near it."

"It should not go through a process of rebuilding and occupation by the same people that have really stood there and fought for it and lived there and died there and lived a miserable existence there," he added.

Netanyahu lauded Trump's tenacity and ability "to think outside the box" during his comments to the press.

"Your willingness to puncture conventional thinking, thinking that has failed time and time and time again, your willingness to think outside the box with fresh ideas, will help us achieve all these goals," he said. "And I've seen you do this many times. You cut to the chase. You see things others refuse to see. You say things others refuse to say, you know. And after the jaws drop, people scratch their heads, and they say, 'You know, he's right.'"

"Israel's victory will be America's victory," Netanyahu said. "We will not only win the war working together, we will win the peace. With your leadership, Mr. President, and our partnership, I believe that we will forge a brilliant future for our region and bring our great alliance to even greater heights."

The proposal has sparked strong reactions from Palestinian militant groups, including Hamas, and has been criticized by many as unrealistic and potentially destabilizing for the region.

However other international security experts argue that Trump's plan, while it may at first appear unworkable, may in fact be one of the best 'America first' realistic plan to end Israel and Hamas' protraction of the decadesold middle east conflict.

U.S. taking the Gaza strip from Israeli military and Hamas, experts argue, eliminates the security threat that Israel uses as an excuse to prolong the occupation, while at the same time giving Palestininas a chance to live peaceful and prosperous lives.

Block Inc. Launches Bitcoin Payments For Square Merchants: Jack Dorsey

Jack Dorsey’s Block Inc. has officially launched Bitcoin payment capabilities for over 4 million Square merchants worldwide, enabling instant, fee-free transactions until 2027.

The rollout, announced by Dorsey on X, allows merchants to accept Bitcoin directly through their Square dashboard, with options to settle in Bitcoin or fiat currency, and includes an auto-conversion tool for up to half of daily revenue.

Merchants can now accept Bitcoin via QR code at checkout, with no additional hardware required, as the system integrates with existing Square point-of-sale terminals.

A map of all global merchants that accept Bitcoin, including those using Bitcoin Square, can be found inside Cash App as well.

This marks a significant step in integrating Bitcoin into mainstream commerce, leveraging the Bitcoin blockchain and Lightning Network for fast, secure, and transparent settlements.

"Our sellers can now receive btc to btc, btc to fiat, fiat to btc, or fiat to fiat," Dorsey announced on X.

“Square Bitcoin is the first fully integrated Bitcoin payments and wallet solution for businesses that will enable sellers to accept Bitcoin payments and automatically convert sales into Bitcoin,” he wrote in his firm’s third-quarter shareholder letter.

The zero-fee period until 2027 is a strategic move to encourage adoption, after which a 1% fee will be introduced—significantly lower than typical credit card processing fees of 2.5% to 3.5%.

The feature was first announced in May 2025 at the Bitcoin 2025 conference, where Block demonstrated Bitcoin payments at a merchandise store using the Lightning Network.

“We’re making Bitcoin payments as seamless as card payments while giving small businesses access to financial management tools that, until now, have been exclusive to the largest corporations,” said Block’s Head of Bitcoin Product Miles Suter, in an October statement announcing the product.

“Through Square and Cash App, we serve both sides of the counter, meaning Square is uniquely positioned to make Bitcoin everyday money, not just a store of value—while also helping sellers future-proof their operations,” he added.

As part of that push, Dorsey has been calling for a de minimis tax exemption on everyday Bitcoin transactions after a legislative effort fell short months ago. In other words, the Block CEO and X co-founder is hoping American users will not need to report small crypto transactions as capital gains.

Block Inc. has released other Bitcoin products as well. Last year, it launched a self-custody hardware wallet called BitKey, and its Cash App—a Venmo or PayPal rival—allows users to buy, sell, and transfer Bitcoin. The company has also expanded its Bitcoin infrastructure, including ownership of over 8,000 BTC, reinforcing its long-term vision of making Bitcoin "everyday money."

Despite mixed third-quarter earnings—$0.54 per share, below analyst forecasts—Square’s gross payment volume grew 12% year-over-year, indicating strong merchant adoption.

The launch coincides with Bitcoin trading around $105,000, reflecting growing institutional confidence in its role within global finance. Shares of Block (XYZ) are up about 0.5% on Monday, changing hands at $65.80. Bitcoin has gained about 1.7% in the last 24 hours, now trading at $105,456.

BBC Leaders Resign Over Trump Edit Scandal, Israel-Gaza War Reporting

Top BBC executives Tim Davie, the Director-General, and Deborah Turness, the CEO of News and Current Affairs, have resigned following a major controversy over the editing of a 2021 speech by U.S. President Donald Trump in a BBC Panorama documentary.

The documentary, titled "Trump: A Second Chance?", aired before the 2024 U.S. presidential election and was criticized for splicing together two distinct parts of Trump’s January 6, 2021, speech—separated by over 50 minutes—into a single, misleading quote that made it appear he directly called for supporters to "fight like hell" during a march on the U.S. Capitol. This edit omitted a key section where Trump urged peaceful protest, leading to widespread accusations of bias and a loss of public trust.

The resignation of both top leaders, announced on Sunday, marks an unprecedented event in the BBC’s history, with both executives taking personal responsibility for the incident.

The controversy was fueled by a leaked internal memo from Michael Prescott, a former external adviser on editorial standards, who criticized the BBC’s handling of the Trump speech edit, its coverage of transgender issues, and alleged anti-Israel bias in its Arabic service.

In the memo, Prescott expressed concern over "systemic problems" and a lack of action from management, contributing to the pressure that led to the resignations.

BBC Chairman Samir Shah apologized on Monday, for the "error of judgment" in the editing, reaffirming the corporation’s commitment to impartiality.

Trump thanked the Daily Telegraph for exposing the BBC, calling the editing "doctoring" and a "terrible thing for Democracy." He also threatening a $1 billion lawsuit against the broadcaster.

The BBC’s charter requires impartiality, and this incident has reignited long-standing debates about the broadcaster’s left-wing political bias, with critics, including Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch and Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy, calling for reform.

The resignations come amid a series of recent controversies, including the removal of a Gaza documentary, and a live broadcast incident involving a chant against the Israel Defense Forces.

Israel's Influence Operation Targets American Christians, ChatGPT, Amid Growing Anti-Israel Sentiment

Israel has reportedly launched a multimillion-dollar influence operation targeting American evangelical Christians and attempting to shape discourse on artificial intelligence platforms like ChatGPT and Claude, according to recent investigations by Israeli news outlet Haaretz and others.

The campaign, which includes geofencing churches, deploying bots, and influencing AI responses, is part of a broader effort to counter declining support among U.S. conservatives and evangelicals following the war in Gaza.

A $3 million campaign, proposed by Show Faith by Works (owned by Republican consultant Chad Schnitger), aims to counter declining support for Israel among evangelical Christians through "biblically based arguments" that portray Palestinians as allies of Hamas and enemies of Christianity.

This campaign includes a "geofencing operation" targeting the physical perimeters of churches and Christian colleges in California, Arizona, Nevada, and Colorado during worship hours, with the goal of identifying attendees and delivering pro-Israel ads—estimated to reach eight million churchgoers and four million Christian students. This is described as the "largest geofencing campaign in U.S. history."

A $6 million contract with Clock Tower X, owned by former Trump campaign strategist Brad Parscale, includes a "Search and Language Operation" designed to influence not only traditional search engine results but also the conversational outputs of generative AI systems like ChatGPT and Claude.

Other components of the campaign include a $2.5 million bot-based program by SKDKnickerbocker to flood social media platforms with pro-Israel messages , a $1 million "Project Esther" that recruits influencers such as Chris Pratt, Jon Voight, Tim Tebow, and Stephen Curry to post content on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and X , and a $4.1 million VR "October 7 Experience" project designed to simulate the Hamas attack and the Nova music festival massacre using immersive technology.

This effort is considered the first publicly documented case of a state attempting to shape discourse through generative AI systems. The initiative is part of a broader "Technological War Room" strategy under the government-backed non-profit "Voices for Israel."

The Israeli Foreign Ministry has denied funding influencers or geofencing operations, calling the reports "an organised and false disinformation campaign."

Support for Israel among U.S. conservatives and evangelicals has declined sharply since the war in Gaza began, with Pew surveys showing a rise in negative views from 42% in 2022 to 53% in 2025, and half of young Republicans now holding a negative view.

The pro-Israel campaign is part of a $145 million effort to rebuild Israel’s image in the U.S., using a mix of traditional hasbara, digital manipulation, and emotional storytelling. The contracts are executed through Havas Media Germany, a subsidiary of the global advertising firm Havas, which acts as an intermediary for foreign-agent filings in Washington.
