Dennis Winn, 72, claimed a drone was hovering above his property when he shot at it with his 9mm pistol. The 72-year-old said he thought somebody's trying to "play games" with his house. He apparently had issues in his neighborhood with people flying drones over his house.
In the police body camera footage, one of the officers who arrived on the scene, can be heard saying he was taken off-guard by Winn's candor and honesty. The Lake County Sheriff's Office says they found a bullet hole in the Walmart drone's payload.
Winn was charged with shooting at an aircraft, criminal mischief damage over $1,000, and discharging a firearm in public.
As he was handcuffed by the cop, Winn joked, "I can't breathe, I can't breathe," referencing the infamous George Floyd who died after resisting arrest in Minneapolis. His death in 2020 sparked riots across the United States
