Judge Dismisses Discredited Jack Smith's Jan 6 Case Against Trump
November 25, 2024

Following a request by discredited Special Counsel Jack Smith Monday, a judge has dismissed the politically motivated charges against President-elect Donald Trump in the Washington D.C. case regarding the partisan investigation into the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol breach.

"The Government has moved to dismiss the Superseding Indictment without prejudice," U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan wrote in a decision. "Defendant does not oppose the Motion…and the court will grant it."

Trump pleaded not guilty to all charges in the case and took the fight to the U.S. Supreme Court, arguing on the basis of presidential immunity.

The high court ruled that Trump was immune from prosecution for official presidential acts, forcing Smith to file a new indictment. Trump pleaded not guilty to those new charges, too.

The President-elect's attorneys have been seeking to have the election interference charges dropped in Washington, D.C., alleging that Smith was appointed unlawfully.

"The American People re-elected President Trump with an overwhelming mandate to Make America Great Again. Today’s decision by the DOJ ends the unconstitutional federal cases against President Trump, and is a major victory for the rule of law," Trump spokesman and incoming White House communications director Steven Cheung said in a statement. "The American People and President Trump want an immediate end to the political weaponization of our justice system and we look forward to uniting our country."

"These cases, like all of the other cases I have been forced to go through, are empty and lawless, and should never have been brought. Over $100 Million Dollars of Taxpayer Dollars has been wasted in the Democrat Party’s fight against their Political Opponent, ME," Trump posted on Truth Social Monday. "Nothing like this has ever happened in our Country before." He said "state Prosecutors and District Attorneys, such as Fani Willis and her lover, Nathan Wade (who had absolutely zero experience in cases such as this, but was paid MILLIONS, enough for them to take numerous trips and cruises around the globe!), Letitia James, who inappropriately, unethically, and probably illegally, campaigned on ‘GETTING TRUMP’ in order to win Political Office, and Alvin Bragg, who himself never wanted to bring this case against me, but was forced to do so by the Justice Department and the Democrat Party."

Trump added: "It was a political hijacking, and a low point in the History of our Country that such a thing could have happened, and yet, I persevered, against all odds, and WON. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

The election interference case is one of many brought against the former president and President-elect by left-wing prosecutors across the country since the end of his first term in office in 2021. Legal experts have slammed the prosecutions as unprecedented political witch hunt against a political opponent. In many of his speeches during the 2024 presidential campaign, Trump slammed President Joe Biden administration as corrupt and authoritarian.

Smith has also filed a motion to drop his appeal in his classified records case against Trump -- a case that was dismissed in July by federal Judge Aileen Cannon. Cannon ruled Smith was unlawfully appointed as special counsel.

Ben Shapiro Vs Candace Owens: Conservative Media Feud At TPUSA AmFest 2025

The public feud within the American conservative movement intensified dramatically at the Turning Point USA (TPUSA) AmFest event, escalating into a full-blown media war with zealous pro-Israel neoconservatives like Ben Shapiro on one side, and on the other side, a growing number of conservatives like journalists and commentators Candace Owens, Steve Bannon and Tucker Carlson who oppose the costly U.S-Israel relationship.

During his aggressive speech at the four-day event, Thursday, pro-Israel activist Ben Shapiro claimed that Owens is promoting conspiracy theories about the assassination of TPUSA founder, and called other prominent voices like Carlson and SiriusXM host Megyn Kelly, "cowards" for not "denouncing" and excommunicating Owens. The speech sparked swift backlash online.

In a comprehensive response on her podcast, Owens noted that Shapiro was jealous of, and tried to undermine Charlie Kirk, and accused Shapiro of having no loyalty to Kirk or his widow, Erika Kirk who currently runs TPUSA.

Owens revealed that after her firing from The Daily Wire in March 2024, Shapiro personally sought to ruin her reputation. She alleged that Shapiro sent one of his interns to a TPUSA event where she was set to speak, with a malicious question, which she successfully exposed.

The conservative firebrand declared she was "done with" Shapiro. "Fuck you, Ben Shapiro, and the midget horse you rode in on," she said, and claimed Shapiro is fearful of what she might discover in her investigation of Charlie Kirk assassination, “It’s beyond obvious Ben Shapiro is fearful.”

During his own speech Friday, Bannon branded Shapiro a "cancer" and "a hardcore never-Trumper." He accused Shapiro of opposing Donald Trump during the 2016 campaign, attempting to shift support to Ted Cruz, and later jumping on the Ron DeSantis and "Israel First" train after Trump’s return to Mar-a-Lago.

Bannon linked Shapiro’s stance to a broader movement for "Greater Israel" agenda, which he claimed prioritizes Israeli expansionism over American interests, and named Shapiro alongside Jewish supremacist Mark Levin as key figures in this movement.

On her part, Kelly, speaking at the TPUSA event Friday, suggested she's severing ties with Shapiro.

Kelly, who had previously been close to Shapiro, publicly distanced herself from him, saying she was no longer his friend. She criticized both Shapiro and new Jewish CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss for attacking Owens without full context, saying they acted "w/o a damn clue" and failed to consult TPUSA or Erika Kirk before making public accusations.

The SiriusXM host revealed she had been working behind the scenes to mediate tensions between Owens and Erika Kirk and expressed embarrassment that the public attacks had worsened the situation. Erika and Owens met privately in Nashville, Tennessee earlier in the week.

The feud has become a symbolic battle within the MAGA movement, with figures like Shapiro leading the dwindling pro-Israel faction of the American right; while popular figures like Owens and Carlson represent the growing anti-war America First coalition.

Elected conservatives and Republicans have largely stayed out of the debates, except few zealous pro-Israel figures like Senator Cruz and controversial Congressman Randy Fine.

Anthony Joshua Defeats Jake Paul With 6th Round Knockout: Netflix Boxing

Anthony Joshua defeated Jake Paul via sixth-round knockout in a highly anticipated Netflix boxing event held at the Kaseya Center in Miami on Friday.

The fight, which saw Joshua land a devastating right hand that broke Paul’s jaw, ended with Paul unable to beat the count after being dropped for the fourth time. Despite a frustrating start and Paul’s persistent defensive tactics, Joshua’s power and persistence proved decisive in the later rounds.

Joshua, returning after a 15-month layoff, struggled early as Paul used lateral movement and defensive tactics, repeatedly falling to the floor to avoid punishment.

Paul was knocked down three times in rounds 5 and 6, with the final knockout occurring at the 1:31 mark of round six after a brutal right hand to the chin. The referee stopped the fight after Paul failed to rise.

Joshua admitted the performance wasn’t his best but emphasized his intent to "take Paul’s soul" and systematically break him down.

Paul, hospitalized after the fight, confirmed his jaw was broken and expressed pride in his effort, stating he loved the sport and planned to return to fight for a world title. He acknowledged the difficulty of handling Joshua’s size and weight, citing fatigue as a factor.

In his post-fight interview, Joshua called out former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury for a potential clash in September 2026, challenging Fury to “step in the ring” and fight with his fists rather than words and "Twitter fingers."

The bout was a highly publicized crossover event between the former two-time heavyweight champion Joshua and the YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul, promoted as a Netflix-exclusive spectacle.

Paul entered the fight with a six-fight win streak, while Joshua was coming off a stoppage loss to Daniel Dubois in September 2024. The fight was scheduled for eight rounds, but the outcome was decided in the sixth.

In the other card fights of the Netflix event:

Alycia Baumgardner retained her unified super featherweight titles via unanimous decision over Leila Beaudoin.

Anderson Silva knocked out Tyron Woodley in the second round with a vicious uppercut and hook.

Jahmal Harvey defeated Kevin Cervantes via unanimous decision.

Cherneka Johnson won a unanimous decision over Amanda Galle to retain her bantamweight titles

Caroline Dubois retained her WBC lightweight title via unanimous decision, dropping Panatta in round six.

Yokasta Valle retained her WBC strawweight title via majority decision after a bloody slugfest with Yadira Bustillos.

Avious Griffin stopped Justin Cardona in the first round via knockout.

Keno Marley defeated Diarra Davis Jr. via unanimous decision

Tucker Carlson Slams Ben Shapiro, Pro-Israel Activists In TPUSA AmFest Speech

American journalist and commentator Tucker Carlson delivered a fiery speech at the Turning Point USA (TPUSA) AmericaFest 2025 event in Phoenix, Arizona, on December 18, 2025, directly responding to a vile critique from pro-Israel activist Ben Shapiro, who had accused Carlson of enabling antisemitism by hosting controversial figures like Nick Fuentes and failing to "denounce" conspiracy theories about Charlie Kirk’s assassination.

Carlson defended his journalistic approach, mocked Shapiro’s calls for 'deplatforming,' and emphasized the importance of free speech, while also criticizing the politicization of religion and the moral implications of violence, particularly in the context of the Israel-Gaza conflict.

The popular American commentator opened his speech by dismissing Shapiro’s criticism, stating he had laughed at the attempt to "deplatform and denounce people" at a Charlie Kirk event, which he described as antithetical to the principles of free debate that Kirk championed. He highlighted that Kirk had personally invited him to speak at the event and stood firm in his belief that people should be allowed to debate, even if their views are controversial.

Carlson condemned the use of terms like "platform" as a verb, calling it leftist language, and argued that the effort to silence dissenting voices echoed the "Red Guard Cultural Revolution" he once opposed. He criticized the double standard in conservative circles, pointing out that while figures like Candace Owens were accused of spreading conspiracy theories about Kirk’s death, similar claims about the Brown University shooter were also pushed by the same influencers, yet no calls for deplatforming followed when Israel was not the target.

The conservative firebrand addressed Christian Zionists, saying that God does not have a partisan affiliation and that Christians should not use religious doctrine to justify killing innocent people, condemning the moral justifications for violence in war zones like Gaza.

He praised Erika Kirk, Charlie Kirk’s widow, for continuing her husband’s commitment to free speech as the new CEO of TPUSA, framing her leadership as a continuation of the movement’s core values.

Carlson also defended his interview with Nick Fuentes, implying that questioning controversial figures is part of responsible discourse, and argued that Shapiro’s approach of demanding denunciations undermines open debate.

The clash between Shapiro and Carlson at AmericaFest 2025 revealed growing ant-Israel sentiments within the conservative movement, particularly over free speech, the role of controversial figures, and the interpretation of Zionism and foreign policy.

Shapiro had accused Carlson of cowardice for not condemning Owens’ investigative reporting about Kirk’s assassination and for hosting Fuentes, whom he labeled an "evil troll" and "Nazi-loving" figure. Carlson, in turn, portrayed Shapiro’s stance as authoritarian and inconsistent with the principles of free expression that define the conservative movement.
